2009 Contractor Awards

For those who are looking for inspiration for their buildings, here are some photos from the 2009 Contractor Awards. These should spark some comments on your railroads.

You will need a 4X4 just to climb to the gararge.

Oh yeah… I see it too…

That line is still active, the rail tops are shiny.

I can’t think of any suitable comment. And the winner is:

I saw that while on liberty in Mombasa.

I’ve seen that last one before.

You know, I think I’ve built things like that before.

Now that is funny!!!

There are quite a few more …

…apparently true. That is awe inspiring as far as building inspections go and truly scary as far as contractors go.

Steve,
Yours are mostly foto-shopped.

I’ve worked in the construction industry for the last 5 years. I’ve seen worse!

Funniest we had in our last building were bathtubs that had no drain line connection. Person on floor 5 took a shower. It ran down into the tub of vacant apartment on on 4 through the ceiling lamp. Same thing repeated again but the apartment on 3 was occupied and they complained of rain in their bathroom. Took us a while to find it, then major de-construction o fix. Seems the plumbers had been unhappy with the site boss.

I don’t know if this is all bad…I confess needing this on occasion down at the pub.

That is probably just a solution to a mandated number of urinals. Around here we have handicap parking places like that. Must put them in, of course they won’t be used.

I like Steve’s explanation of the urinals.

Sheesh, imagine that!  You're welcome!

Just for kicks I had a look at the “Dwarf personality” write-up, it says (amongst other things)

DPWP said:
Grumpy people live in a world of facts and concrete needs. They live in the present, with their eye constantly scanning their personal environment to make sure that everything is running smoothly and systematically. They honor traditions and laws, and have a clear set of standards and beliefs. They expect the same of others, and have no patience or understanding of individuals who do not value these systems. They value competence and efficiency, and like to see quick results for their efforts.
Could be a lot worse! :p   :P

Since you brought it up, hj:

Go back and read the rest of the page. It might be eye opening for you…

None of those characteristics fit me.
So I ain’t grumpy.
Just an old Phart!

Torby,

My 13 yr old daughter is laughing uncontrollably at your ducks.
