Yes, I might buy something at the show, if a dealer has some new item, but, what do I need, at this point…

EDIT : for page 3

Fr Fred, I sent you a message with the Bachmann cars I was willing to bring to sell. Have not heard back. Are you still interested,eh?

Just got a heads up from Harry, ECLSTS 2016 is 80 days out.

Hmm, Rooster is speechless again.

Savor it, it’s a very rare occurrence(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)…

Ken are you going to the show this year?

I just learned on the past weekend, that at least 3 of the stalwart Canadians, will not be attending this year, due to the VERY low (65 cent or less) Canadian dollar…and at least several others, taking a very hard look at the overall costs of the trip this year…

When a Canadian is considering anything South of the border, they have to look at spending around $1.50 Canadian, for every US Dollar they spend in the United States of America. This can add up very quickly, even with the rather reasonable $90 hotel rate…

…on the other hand; Americans visiting Canada this year, are faced with a windfall, of a 50 cent bonus, every time they spend an American Dollar in Canada.

Where the Canadian Dollar be in March, is anyone’s guess, but it doesn’t look all that good…

I’m starting to look at having to make my decision by the end of January, and I don’t feel good about it. We still have bills to pay back home, and the whole summer ahead. Can I justify “Blowing” the whole wad going to York, or enjoying a full summer with friends here at home ?

Yes; I did purchase a Lottery ticket today, in hopes that the Storm Gods will see their way clear to grant me a bonus, so that I can help the Canadians, all go to York, and have a great party with their great AMERICAN FRIENDS…

…needless to say; I’m not holding my breath, as any/all of “The Gods” can prove to be extremely fickle, no matter how well meaning I, or anyone else might promise to be…and I want to live to enjoy another Summer with great FRIENDS, “Operating” the railroad.

Yes we do !

Although looking back at my spreadsheets re: g-gauge purchases 1999-2003 the exchange was that bad all thru those yrs. when I was making quite a few purchases starting up. Starting in 2004 it started to head to ‘par’.

Sadly, we’re just being wacked again !

Luckily, I personally don’t ‘need’ as much anymore.

p.s. with eclsts seemingly heading towards a all-scales designation, it will quickly no longer be on my to-do-again list. :frowning: Since we have our own IASTS up here.

Of course. I’m only a little over an hour away…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Im skipping this year. One reason Ill have a very little one by then. Plus the cost having to take vacation days, food, room and gas. When all said and done I could have bought a live steam engine (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)

Thanks for the invite but we head home early on Sunday so we can take our time and not be in a rush.

If you are around mid Thursday afternoon we might be able to detour from our route to York and stop by to see the railway.

It’s not all bad.

I tried to sell LGB cars here, but had no takers.

Put them on E-Bay and they are being bought with American dollars.

That’s 50% more than I could have got at home.

Thursday before the show I meet up with Ric and Andy out in Orbisonia and do a bit of exploration on the EBT. Then head to show to help set up the Timesaver. (though I have given Andy a tour of Gettysburg on the way there…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif))

Yeah, and it was a nice tour, but by the time we got to the fairgrounds, my truck was unloaded and the Timersaver all set up…

(maybe we should do that again)… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Luckily, I personally don’t ‘need’ as much anymore.

Ah, neither do I, and I haven’t for a few years now. But I still seam to come home with a Jeep full of stuff. Something calls my name, then other things hear what my name is and they start calling my name and then…since I now have this, I need that to go with it, and…wouldn’t that over there just go perfect with these two items I now have? And…

Therein lays the reason I only take so much and I do not spend anymore then that. I will not go to the bank and take out more money, and I will not use a credit card. Usually, because I have no more money in the bank, and I don’t take my credit card with me.
