Just to let you know, we’ve been able to upload a few more clips to YouTube, but have had to use a couple of methods to do so. One thing for sure, we cannot upload to YouTube directly from iMovie. Anyhow, we now have a series of clips that will give you some indication about the layout of the track, as well as some aspects of how we keep the layout clean. To access these clips, go to YouTube and type in “Romocomaka” in the search line. Let me know if you have any comments.
Been interesting reading all the issues you’ve been having with YouTube. Glad you’ve been able to upload some videos.
I’m fairly certain the troubles go back to your operating system…Apple. Surprises me, but I’ve never had any issues uploading via a windows based system. The only issues I’ve ever had is YouTube compressing the video quality too much. But they have gotten better recently.
Could also be your internet browser as well.
I had to do some tweaks to my Firefox browser to get YouTube videos to play right after a recent update. Nothing too difficult though.
Hello;
I have a I-MAC downstairs in my office.
I upload pictures to YOUTUBE without any problem.
Here is how to make it easy for you to upload movies to YOUTUBE.
Place a copy of your movie on your desk top.
Go to that file when you are on youtube.
When you have uploaded the file successfully delete the copy from your desktop.
Works every time…
Apple are a good machines I have used this one for 3 years now. I never had any issues with it, other tan it’s limitations.
My heart will always be with the Windows machines. They are more versatile in my opinion.
Boy I’ll get comments on that remark. But if you run computers as long as I have then maybe I’ll listen to what you say…
Olt timers never DIE they just smell that way…
Yes I said Olt.
Hi David,
That is the exact method that I have come up with, albeit cumbersome. I have to admit, I really like the MAC, this coming from a PC geek of 25 years. My biggest difficulty with the MAC is unlearning the PC… Above all, you CANNOT beat the service, and they speak English.
Thank you for your help.
I just watched your videos. What was that at the beginning of the shot.
On the blower/ bilge blower unit. Would that work better if you would blow to one side or the other.
Then as you progressed across the yard you could blow the debris off all the tracks.
And when you use the blower couldn’t you pull the track cleaner behind the switcher to do both operations at once?
Save you some time maybe.
nice videos. Clear your talker before you start the video.
Hi David,
Thank you for your thoughts.
Not sure what you’re referring to at the beginning of the shot, could possibly be a glitch that I created, let me know where you saw it.
On the blower, the debris is actually blown to the right side of the rails, and when run in the total effort, the inner loop is done, than the outer loop, both in the same starting direction, so that the two mains have the stuff blown to the right from the inside track to the outside track, and the outside track blows it further towards the edge of the layout. When we run a cleaning session we use at least two locos, battery and/or track power, with the RailBroom in front and the blower about 5’ behind it. We are developing a track cleaner with the same pad that we use for cleaning the top of the rails now, and that would be towed behind the blower car. Eventually, I want to make the RailBroom self propelled so I can do things such as controlling the operation of the brush itself, when I want to (it would be a self-contained battery powered R/C unit), perhaps a winter project. Can you tell I like to tinker?
As you mentioned, I have been having some issues with the voice over, but, hopefully, I will have this taken care of before my next clip.
Thank you again for your comments.

Just saw these - pretty cool. But I’m wondering if you have the latest version of iMovie which is very aware of YouTube? Right from within iMovie 9 you can select a variety of methods of sharing including YouTube and more and the confuser simply processes the information appropriately and rocks the upload. I’m a major computer geek with Macs so I’m happy to help.
I need to get one of those railbrooms, too, that’s pretty slick - but I wonder why it wouldn’t be powered by track power also?
