Your ideas for undoing Future acrylic clear coat?
Am considering repainting a Bachmann 4-6-0 into livery for one of my HO freelance lines; but last year gave cab and tender a brushed on coat of Future acrylic.
Probably best to remove it before attempting repaint, yes?
As always, it is possible to end up not actually doing the repaint, nevertheless, info may prove useful to someone.
Future can be removed using Windex or any other ammonia based cleaner
Ammonia will fog some plastic and plexiglass be careful around windows and clear plastic, unless you want it permanently fogged.

We use Future at work to protect the “product” after the Stainless steel has been polished while we asseble handles and do the finsihing on the knives. They go thru a spray wash system (think 50 foot long conveyorized dish washer) which uses soap and lots of hot water. I do not think howeer that a train would survive the trip thru…
