You Yanks crack me up!

As HJ could tell you all; we just about had “The Three Stooges” take over the Government.
It was about to happen until the apprentice Governer General allowed young Harper to close down Parliment until some time in January. (She had to make an early return from an all expense paid holiday in Europe)

The only thing really noticable here in Ottawa, is that after the GG got her mind made up and allowed Harper a Christmas Holiday; the temperatures took a drastic dip by about 15 degrees…just goes to show how much hot air the government contributes to global warming.

It would have been very interesting to see Lew, Curly and Moe, fighting to see who would be the actual leader, any day of the week. One jurk; I think it’s Moe, would surely have demanded a retreat from Afganistan, along with at least $5000 for every twit that voted for him…then one other, of the Stooges, would have expected a complete seperation for Quebec…the other guy, was still trying to understand what he himself was saying in either of our two official languges.

Yes; last week was a very comical week up here in Ottawa. Who says Canada is a dull place…it’s actually a fun place…we don’t need Hollywood…or a funny farm…we have the THREE STOOGES right here on contract !!!

Fred,

You forgot to mention the Mad Shepherd with his obedient sheep. As far as I’m concerned they are a herd of ConTOMs (BTW TOMs in this case stands for Totally Obedient Morons!). :slight_smile:

HJ;

I knew that I could never cover the whole series of events, and show how comical the whole thing is/was.
I figured by mentioning your name in the first line; that you would/could pick up where I left off and add other juicy bits of the show, for the benifit of our friends down South and around the globe. !!!

…of course, HJ…local city politics have their funny bits too.

After a long delay and many false starts, with a delay penalty of about $5,000,000, the city of Ottawa has finaly signed a plan for so-called light rail. OK; that was a week or so ago; today we see that the transit union is going on strike for basicly more sick leave. The strike starts on Wednesday. Their contract ended last March…go figure…Why should they have more sick days when most of us might have had some sort of sickness insurance, but no sick days to abuse…and sick days do just ask to be used for days off for fun and games.

It is widely suspected that the Prime Minister of Canada will call a general election tomorrow. That election will be over by October 17.
Kevin:

In my ignorance of Canadian election protocol and practices, I took your original post to mean October 17, 2009. You folks could be right on target. :slight_smile: :wink:

I do believe stupid things like our relatively new U.S. practice of states vying to have the earliest primary are detrimental to the democratic process, being a complete turn-off to those who are only semi-politically inclined and totally boring to virtually everyone.
