You-tube spam

I recently posted a video on You-Tube and have been inundated with spam from supposed You-Tube members praising my video skills and pointing me in the direction of a website that will increase the number of potential subscribers I could attact, by incorporating the information on the site. Being naturally cautious (or is that paranoid), I delete the email. They also state that they have added themselves to my profile as a subscriber, which is false. The email address is always the same, but the name of the subscriber is always different.

Are people that vain that they gauge success by how many subscribers they attract to their profile, much as those idiot Facebook diehards sign-on every request from a member wanting to be one of their ‘friends’? These people really need to get a life!!!

My spam has dropped off quite a bit once I removed myself from that Facebook site.
All my family is on it and they exchange news.
They wonder what happened and I told them they are nuts to bare themselves to the world.

That’s odd, I’m on Facebook, but don’t get any spam. Even my uncle in Nigeria ignores me.

Tim maybe those individuals Choose to live life their way and not be misguided by your way

…grinning…

Hi Tim,

Yep, they really need a life! Both Face Book and YouTube seem to attract some “interesting” characters - actually no surprise if one considers just how many people are on there and the “exposure” one can garner by being “friends” with just about anybody.

I signed off at Face Book a few weeks before the big “Let’s dump the service” initiated by some compatriots. Still have a YouTube account, but don’t post any videos on there since the quality and features suck in a big way. Life’s too short to get frittered away with substandard stuff.

That is possible. :) :P However getting to watch snippets of their videos and actions at very infrequent intervals I believe the gene pool is being cleaned up --- slowly but surely. There is hope! ;) :)

Further to original posting, when I first attempted to upload the video several days ago to You-Tube, Google prompted me to open a Google account. I declined. I now cannot enter the 120pointme blog site as I need a Google account to do so. Coincidence???

I wonder why you got asked for a google account with youtube? Theyre not connected in any way… scanned for a virus?

Hmmmm Bob ..... a while back (Oct 2006) Google acquired YouTube, all these guys just keep on converging and converging and converging. Pretty soon it will be just one big happy company and we'll all watch out. ;) :)

A positive side is that I got to see a couple of videos by mauimikecurry in California. I loved the laid back style and the background music. Also the scenery was superb. This guy puts a smile on your face.

On that cross account thing
