Hi all,
Called Ridge Road and snagged the last two of one particular RhB car in their stock. Whew!
Looks/sounds like supplies are dwindling!
Oh yes, ordered two power bricks as well, from that other outfit.

HJ,
excellent move, purchasing the now very hard to get cars. This will certainly help. It seems that sales are quite brisk this time of year with everyone pitching in doing their bit.
Tim,
These are not collector’s items, they are simple E-type gons, Made in China, which will require some additional work to fit “the scheme”.
But they will nicely balance the intended scheme: approx. 10% of what the proto had for that era.
Funny part, the RhB gons seem to be rare on eBay. Not enough people interested in those “mundane” cars, but since they’re used for all kinds of loads they certainly fit on the layout.
Which reminds me …
HJ,
I picked up a heap of Kiss RhB freight cars last year from Hans Kahl. Actually was not totally impressed with the actual quality. They use a different construction method to assemble the cars with separate body pieces assembled to create the body and chassis. The Kiss cars look nice but I still prefer my LGB. Apparently, if you believe the jargon, these cars are not to be reissued due a wharehouse fire. I may keep them as a ‘keepsake’ as although Colorado narrow-gauge is my modelling medium of choice, I am finding that the elusive German narrow-gauge is creeping up on me. Around half my collection is European prototype. With the possibility of fewer Euro prototype being available in the future then my Euro stuff may appeal to me more.
Tim,
I have one of the Kiss Ek, fairly accurate but not stellar. Did a review for GARTENBAHNprofi, no static.
I also have a Kiss Gbk-v as well as the same from xxx, the Kiss is considerably closer to proto, but again not stellar. Did a review on both in the BTOC mag, since it was in print - aka real print - I didn’t get any static.
BTW the KISS method is truly that, why build a complicated injection mould with several slides if one can do a much smaller mould that is relatively shallow and flat. No, the feel will not be the same, but it cuts down on the tooling and if done right will be very sturdy.
The fire actually happened at the distribution warehouse - third party outfit - and there was more than just plastic cars going up in smoke or being melted down to clumps of brass. Even if one has it all insured that is a major setback!
