Yorkshire Diecast Model TT

I came across this Model T truck setup to run on g-scale track with track power. I knew nothing about it at the time other than it looked neat and the price was right. Once I got it home I immediately added a DCC controller so it can run on my track. Then I added headlights and a taillight (Which I took from an Eggliner I dismantled to get the motor block out of it). I wanted to know more about it and see what other models are out there. Well all that I can find base on the box is it is a Yorkshire Model TT diecast car. I tried to look online for a Yorkshire Model TT track powered version but there is nothing available.

So does anyone here know anything about these? Did someone convert these or was this something a person did on their own? The power unit (Bottom half) is a perfect match to the body (Upper Half).

I’d say you have a unique model.

Yes these die-cast non powered models are all that I am finding too. And they all have tires, and it looks like even if you pulled the tires off of the rims the rims would not be rail wheels.

I know I have seen one of those before. It had to be at the ECLSTS. They are definitely not common.

Mark- Yorkshire made a whole series of these trucks. I’ve got a few of them. They all came pre-decaled for the “Bell System.” I’ve got the truck you have pictured, as well as an auger type truck for “planting” telephone poles, a scissor jack lift truck for repairing lines, and a utility truck with ladders. I believe that they made other models in the set, but these are the only ones I own. As for who attached the power brick to yours… I dunno. Hope this helps.

Mark,

Those trucks were sold powered by Delton a long time ago. If you google “Delton Rail Truck” a few will show up. They do turn up on eBay from time to time.

George

I just purchased two of these trucks (the Yorkshire trucks, not the Delton) on eBay for $7.99 and $9.99. The cheaper one is used but excellent, the other is NIB. Some day I will convert one to a rail car like this one from Delton…

Thanks George that is the kind of information I was looking for. Ironically when I did a search for “Delton Rail Truck” I got this as a result. Perhaps I need to do a search on the forum first before asking questions LOL http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/18039/delton-locomotive-works-inspection-truck
