Does this mean a remake of “The Odd Couple” is imminent??(http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f72/Shortybear/ECLSTS/002-1.jpg)
Judging by the Padre’s expression I’d say he needs a drink - can’t blame him, getting “roostered” must take it out of people.
Tks for posting photos for us west coasters… Nice to see who we talk to sometime out here.
Keep posting what’s going on there… tk’s again.
Hi Guys,
Looks like everyone had a great time at the show, and congrats to the show winners in the model contest.
Talked with the Bachmann rep, he said to look for a new steam outline large scale engine to be anounced in July or August this year. All he would say about it is we should be very happy and pleased with it. He did say they don,t have it in HO and it is not a 2-6-0.
As to St Abun’s 30% sale, last year I bought 2 AMS box cars at the show for a little over $100.00 they where marked $59.00 plus 10% off This year they had the prices on these cars marked $89 to $99 with 30% off, and this was a deal?? I made out better last year. I came home with my walet intact.

It was great seeing the pictures from the show.
It was neat putting faces with the messages we post every day.
I hope you all get a good day running trains today. If the rain holds off I’ll be running on our club layout at the nursery today.
Congrats to all the winners. Awesome workmanship. Was great meeting everybody.
Pat
Yes, congratulations to the winners! It was good meeting and seeing the LSC crew!
Just curious…how was attendance at the show? Dealers…more or less than usual? Deals to be found?
Thanks,
John
I thought it was WAY down. Friday afternoon about four we noted you could look through the doors of the layout room all the way down to St Aubins and not see more than a couple dozen people. Saturday started slow, had a mini-crowd rush at maybe 1130, but that was gone by 1.
Sounds like the Southwest show.
It won’t be long before we are buying everything on the internet.

I love the show. I couldn’t attend this year. Economy and weather probably played a roll in the low attendance.
Any specific great deals from TrainWorld or Nicholas Smith Trains?
Personally, it is the cost of gasoline that deters me from driving down.
Five years ago the fuel cost was reasonable with the idea of then continuing down to Florida to tour DisneyWorld and see the live steam locos and of course Mickey Mouse!
Norman
I had a prior commitment. The cost of gas certainly did not sway my decision to come.
It’s a nine hour drive for me. I’m not about to miss a good time because the gas will cost me $10 or $20 more.

All the dealers I talked to, and there were a few said they had a great show. The people that came were all buying. St Aubins prices for USA stuff were still higher than what Charlie Ro was selling stuff for. There may have been an exception or two but that was the case with all the stuff Scott and I were looking at. Had a great time as usual, Scott did all the diving and we drove the truck for the club. So the cost was for only for meals and 1/2 the hotel room. Spent more than I should…but then I always do at the show. And everything I bought was a lot less than on-line. Used the phone to check prices online as I went along. I would have come home with a USA F3AB set but by the time I decided on that the $$ were all gone.
I still have not gone…the cost of time is a HUGE deterent. Having to take a vacation day or two to travel to a FRIDAY show is silly. with limited hours on Saturday what is the point? Travelling by myself to this or any other show stinks. At elast the weather wasn’t too bad.
Chas
Too far for me to go. But I spent the time working on my trestle. Got half the bent made and all the wood cut. Just got to assemble the rest.
I had no good excuse other then too lazy to drive the 3.5 hours and only able tyo stay for a few hours. I have to get get the wife to do an overnight trip next year.
I take Friday off, and leave about 6. Gets me to the show about 1230, with a food/fuel stop. Saturday isn’t really “limited hours”, and since the show is so small, you only really need a couple hours MAX to look around anyway, then the rest of the time is just hanging out with friends. I leave about 230 which gets me home around 9.
