Yellow UP with American Flag?

oh, how it hurts when the eldest ask dad for the “yellow diesel with the American flag” for Christmas…I thought he’d be satisified with the LGB SVRy Switcher…uh, no.

So, what is the Proto?

Is there one built in “G”

If more than one avail…the better for Battery Ops…

dumb questions I know, but I hold no interest/knowledge in modern diesels…

thanks a bunch!

cale

after a few min a’lookin I found these…so there are two…now which would be better for Battery Ops…?

Cale,
A geep of some kind would get much better fuel (battery) economy, and is a whole lot smaller.
You can stick an American flag on the sides.

Can’t find the site I was thinking of, Cale, but google “Flags and Wings” or “Flags, Flares, and Wings” and you may find it. I think the prototype line is limited to Dash-9’s, SD70’s and SD90’s… but I could be mistaken.

Aristo’s new locos have an easy battery setup, from what I’ve read. Just plug in and flip a switch. They have a stock car with all the stuff in it for battery also, I think. Jerry

Cale, ask Tony Walsham about battery conversions for USA dismals - that’s what he does.

Thanks Dave, I am a RCS user and think it's the Bees Knees!

Cale: at least he has an interest in trains even if Dismals! Me the only one I have so far is a Graetgrandson who is only three and it may not last! We shall see. Good luck on finding what he wants, but then you could do the paint job in shop and install dual batterys and RCS (the only way to go!) your self. And as the TOC says, if I can train a 2 1/2 year lod to use RCS even you have a chance!

Paul

yeah, they like trains alright!..even the girl!.. here is a shot of our bonus room…for those who don’t know, that is the Thomas and Friends stuff strewn everywhere!

both my boys can operate the RCS TX pretty well!

Cale,

There is life after kids. Of course, you have to have them to have the life after them. Children are fun, grandchildren are a lot of fun, besides you get to laugh at your kids struggling like you did way back when. The stains will come out of the carpet or you’ll replace it. And the knife stuck in the wall story gets better every time it is told.

Thomas is fun to play with and reading the stories out of the big book at bedtime as a grandpa is a great thrill.

“Parental insanity” is a form of defense and almost universally accepted. Older people will tell you time passes so fast. Trust me, that’s is so you can survive.

Cale you gota love it!!! It is good to see kids that like something other an TV !@**!*@ and game Boy etc. You can get them outside with the trains! And yes the one Greatgranddaughter likes trains but not like her younger brother.

Paul

Not wishing for any time to pass quicker than needed!

We have 4 amazing little people in this house, who love mom and dad nearly as much as we love them!

We are homeschooling and Eli will begin Kindergarten this year (and Luke will trot along side I’m sure)…Caidyn will be there as well, and Milam…well, he’s only a month old.

Carla and I both believe that we can use the trains to teach the kids all sorts of things.

It’s not always quiet here, but it’s always fun!!!

and yes, we’ll prob have more!

cale

oh…No “game” systems allowed here…my kids don’t even know what they are! TV is allowed in due measure…and they usually want to watch Roy Rogers/Gene Autry/Lone Ranger or Thomas and Friends…and sometimes Star Wars IV.

Not the way Cale is going! He’s gonna have a dozen of them.
