Hello Folks - I’ve installed a Wye track section in my new garden RR that allows reversing the direction of a locomotive. The Wye must be totally isolated from the mainline tracks just like a reverse loop since the connections cause a polarity conflict which will short out the layout. The Wye is controlled by a Massoth 8157001 DiMax Reverse Loop Module which changes the polarity of the Wye track to match the entrance and exit points. The entrance to the Wye is controlled by an LGB 16000 electrical switch with a Massoth DiMax DCC 1-Channel Switch Decoder. The tail of the Wye and the exit leg of the Wye use LGB 16000 Spring Loaded switches. See the video at my YouTube Channel of an LGB F7AB Alco Diesel entering and exiting the Wye and then connecting four passenger cars in the railyard.
