WV&K General Freight Cars

So after finishing the hopper fleet off, the lazy bums got to work on a Reefer and a wooden boxcar, These are still being built with ‘found materials’ to an “Operational Quality”.

You need to pick up a couple of cans of Krylon for that reefer. Almond and Hunter Green!

Those colors sound familiar…

Lookin’ good Bart. Nice and sturdy - just the way I like them. Of course, you’re probably a lot more gentle with your rolling stock than I am.

I see you’ve been cracking the whip on the shop guys…lookin good!

The boxcar is up to “Operational Quality” so I said enuff with the details…and moved it into paint… Just hae to do the platforms, couplers, and roofwalks and its ready for service…

'Tis easy when your doing it full time :D

Great job Bart. Looks like your going to have a full stable of cars soon.

Hopefully the ‘car shop gang’ will find gainful employment soon.

Wow, nice work and quick too!

Ain’t it nice to have days off…

Well it could go faster if I didn;t ahve to stop and mill out the raw materials all the time…heheheheheh

Bart,
Do you mold/cast your roofs? Jerry

I am amazed at what you can do with a few pieces of wood… Great work…

Holy Cow! That looks great.

And…its done…still needs some stencils and a little weathering, but its servicable for operations anyways…

The Roof was made out of a styrene “No Parking” sign from the local hardware store…where else can ya get a 12 x 18 of styrene in that thickness fer $3.99??? Not at a hobby shop thats fer sure. A couple trips through the trusty bandsaw and we’re good to go. Andy…you forget I’ve seen the stuff you’ve got going down in the basement, good words from you are high praise indeed!

Hmmmmmmmm, maybe I should check out the local hardware store…

Naw, Just drive around the neighborhood and snag a couple front yard signs from roofers, painters, etc or for sale....................... I didn't say that, did I?

jb

or Obama for President signs…

But they'd be made out of Democratic styrene. That certainly would not be compatible with your Republican glue :D :D

Good point…

Then again, if I use my Indepedent glue it’ll work on either/or…

Corrugated plastic signs are great material to build buildings out of.
