So for the next bit, we start boiler work. Gotta get at least the rough shape of the boiler and firebox so that we can construct the saddle and finish the cylinder assembly…

Rough idea how it will look mounted on the chasis…

and from another angle…The gray section is where the firebox wrapper will be applied, but a repair is necessary to the Riveter before I can finish that…

Looks good.

What happened to the riveter?

I think a locking washer on the bottom of the indexing table came off…

You’re this far so I take it you got rid of that hitch in the giddyup?

Ok…two E rings and the Riveter is back in service, smokebox wrapper done, firebox started and final bit o work being done on the cylinder saddle. She’s starting to come together…

Very nice work, looks great, and thanks for your help, Bruce in southern OHIO

Only minor stuff done today, but I did drag out a tender. I think the length is alright, but is gonna have to get a little taller and a little wider…

An unusual (up til now) Saturday off…Starting a new schedule tomorrow that should get me a bit more railroading time in this year! The cylinder saddle is done…

And I started slicing and diceing a set of tenders into one largish tender…

Really coming along Bart. Thanks again for the help.

Wow where does the time go? Just realized I hadn’t posted updates…

Construction on the tender is finished, and its in paint now…built and mounted the front pilot…

Not to mention getting a cab, which represents the last of the rivet work on this project…

and here’s what she looks like sitting on The Shop track tonight…

There you go gettin’er’don and I missed all the work.Looking good Bart, I almost brought this build to the front today to see where you were

Thought I’d share a shot of some of the detail bits I’ve spent the weekend fabricating, notably the cross compound air pump and the air operated firebox door. This is the part like most about scratchbuilding, fabricating all the little things…

So you're that one guy. ;) Nice work Bart!

Bart can we get a few finished pics?

Well…The Bruce says that no locomotive is finished until its picture is taken on the layout…but I don’t have a layout worthy of photographing it right now so theses will have to do …

Only Bart’s engines have “AKA’s”.
