Hi all

I am looking for the following O scale enginehouse kit. It may have been a Russian Railroad kit six or eight years ago. The designer told me AIM was going to produce it and it’s on their site but it never came to be. He said he produced about 100 kits so there must be an un-built one out there somewhere. Here it is:

Yeah, me too, but my wife wants to do an On30 layout and since she is interested in trains who am I to discourage her. They do call On30 the smallest large scale. I doubt I will be able to find the kit but it doesn’t cost to ask. There is an On30 forum on this site.

In getting the boxes ready for packing I discovered that the set is only the plaster cast walls. No other plastic or wood parts are present. I remember now I was going to build a three stall roundhouse and ordered extra wall castings and floor with extra pit so I could do so. All parts for a three stall roundhouse are there, just no Grandt parts, wood or instructions. The side walls were broken in shipment but will glue together with almost no damage showing.

In view of this, I do not know if you still want the kit. I will be more than happy to refund your money if you wish. The extra parts would make into a really nice roundhouse should you want to keep it. It is a simple matter to cut the parts necessary to fit. If you decide to want a refund, I will probably build it up myself.

I’m not sure of what you have. Do you have the two side walls, the two front wall corners and the center plug and the back wall corner and wall piece? Do you have no floor pieces? As far as I can tell it takes seven pieces to create a two stall engine house. I have space and plans for a two stall engine house and am not really interested in increasing its size.

Would you still expect the $200 plus $10 for shipping just for those seven pieces? For additional pieces?

Of course the Stoney Creek Engine House on E-bay just ended. That would have been my second choice.

I have all of the pieces for the proper 2 stall unit including the floor and pit. The Grandt and wood parts are probably worth about $30 or so. I can refund the money for the Grandt parts not there of course if that would work for you. It is a really nice kit. Let me know Charley.

OK let’s do it. I have looked for the windows and the ones I have not found are the ones in the doors. Do you know whether maybe the doors were a casting?

I just priced the grant line parts and they come to $53 and not $30. Now I find the roof is going to be an additional $16. That’s without any wood and with no instructions

Skylites (clearstory lites) $10

side windows $7

Engine house doors $15

Smoke Stacks $18

Rear Door $3

Roof $16

That’s nearly $70 more. Even if you were to write me a check for $30 It is a lot more that I end up paying and still not a complete kit.

I think I just want you to refund my money. I’m sorry it didn’t work out but that’s the way it sometimes ends up.
