I knew the white pasd got new diesels but figured they would keep the old ones, guess not:
After nearly setting Colorado on fire last year, these should save the railroad some headaches.

I’d hate to think I’ve taken my last ride, but dismals just don’t smell as nice as steam!

I think the dismals are in response to the lawsuit about setting fires. They have converted some (all?) the steam engines to oil-burning. In the dry season they can run these dismals without fear of causing an ‘incident’.
