Large Scale Central

Wow!

I was the recipient yesterday of two boxes of G-Scale equipment. Very generous friends dropped two boxes of “stuff” in front of our garage door at some point yesterday. I’m glad I went out to my travel trailer to look for something and noticed the boxes sitting there. The “stuff” included a steam 0-4-0 switcher (not sure of the maker yet), what looks like a brand new LGB Porter, and a Bachmann Spectrum Baldwin 2-4-2 Tank Loco. Also included was a metal windmill, water tank, and covered station platform…all in excellent shape. The boxes also included several feet of track and nine different cars; box, tanker, flat, caboose.

My wife received a text earlier asking if we’d be interested in some G-Scale stuff and I said sure thinking it was some odds and ends…little did I realize…

So thank you friends for your overwhelming generosity!!

Richard

Way cool

Way cool… I have on several occasions been the recipient of the midnight train fairies. My pike is street side, and I come out and find a box of train stuff just setting there. Abet not as good as your stuff, mostly junk stuff, and so far a couple of new bright sets, and abused big hauler cars. It seams as every one knows that I’m the train guy, and I must want anything RR related.

Hey I know that curse!

“I’m the train guy, and I must want anything RR related.”

Some of the junk that has been dumped on me, Oy Vey!

Yea. Since I have come back to HO, I have been gifted with a variety of HO stuff. Some are diamonds in the rough, and some are trash can stuffing.

Right now I am working on an abused J. W. Bowker. I straightened the deformed pilot with boiling water, and am now adding power pick ups and DCC to it. Next I need to replace the missing smokebox front.

Also, because I “make things out of little sticks”, I have been gifted with partly used packages of stripwood in various sizes.

Richard, you are real lucky, to get stuff that hasn’t been used to death. Good for you.

Lucky stiff! Most envious am I!

Around here you are far more likely to get it taken by the pi- train robbers…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

OVGRS

I’ve been gifted train stuff by a few neighbors. Mostly buildings and building parts. My across the street neighbor sold off his grandfather’s LGB collection, but didn’t want to deal with the Pola buildings, so they came to me. Another neighbor keeps dropping off old buildings, mostly in pieces. The Engine house showed up on top of his car one summer weekend. Some day I will get around to bashing a few more buildings from the free parts in my back yard junk pile.

Sounds like some good stuff!

I just got a box of old photos from none other than Marc Horvitz who had a freind drop them at his place…Regifting is fun!

They include some nice maine two footer stuff, some Hawaiian railway stuff and a couple odds and ends.

Great pics!
