Large Scale Central

Wot happened?

For the past few days, LSC hasn’t been loading properly on my laptop, either through Bookmarks or Google. It comes up without the navigation bar (Home, Forums, Articles and so forth). To get into forums I have to go through Google, which has a separate listings for the home page and forums.
Once in, the “New” tags are missing from topic headers. Nor are smilies working, for what that is worth.

Other sites load OK, so is anyone else having an LSC glitch?

Later: On further checking, this happens when I’m using Firefox. The headers come up OK on IE7 – but I dislike using IE, which has other “issues”.
Oh well, maybe I’ll have to surrender to the Evil Empire.

No difference here. I’d suggest (assuming you are using IE6) you go into your options in IE, and delete your cookies and files and see if that fixes it.

If that fails, go to windows update, select custom, and see if there are any relevant updates you need.

Regards, Greg

Well, I discovered the trouble. A certain resident of this household, aged about four and a quarter and with an incorrigible urge to play on Grampa's computer, had managed to make Firefox block images from LSC (I don't use IE if I can help it). Grampa learns new computer tricks every day ;) Now if Grampa could only learn to make the guilty party take "No" for an answer.

You may want to go to a passworded screensaver. That should put the brakes on an eager 4 year old.

One of these might work too

They won’t sell those to just anybody. But a cattle prod would work…
