World’s greatest hobby train show this weekend, Pomona CA
At the Fairplex in Pomona, CA. looks like a really big show based on the floor plans. Passing this along, as I won’t be at this show.

Anyone going, if Bachmann has a booth, please visit and ask about future plans for 1/29. Especially a SD9. Let them know that they already have the tooling for the trucks and sideframes from the Aristo SD45’s. I bugged them about it a couple weeks ago when the show was up here. I really emphasized that there is money out there but we need new product instead of reruns to get it moving. The more of us that ask at these shows the better. Same would go for Accucraft if they are there. The Worlds Greatest Hobby show is worth visiting. Lots to see.
Not going Vic? Why?

Can’t commit to two days, that’s the biggest reason this time, and I’d be completely on my own without any relief, also
Borracho layout is still buried in the garage, and only small one pizza layout available, the Schmatterhorn is not ready for prime time.
Good weekend to install filezilla:
First need to know the operating system you are using and if Windows, if 32 bit or 64 bit.
We can put the weekend to good use.

I asked, they said 1/29 was definitely on their radar, but that the G market is still really soft, but that when they do something in 1/29, it will likely be a reissue of something they have all the tooling for. I asked about the Dash 9 and surprisingly he said that they were missing some of the tooling. No definite word on which item might get issued, the G market is too weak for anything new or that requires substantial reworking or new tooling, we’ll see how it goes in the coming year. There were ALOT of people at the show today, so there’s interest in trains…and the short time i was there I did see alot of G boxes in people’s hands.
We got to hit the show for the last couple hours of the show, it was very busy! I ended up getting another $35 Lil Big Hauler from Hans at Gold Coast (he knows my weakness), and a killer deal on a box of G scale pine trees at Bridgemasters so now I have more than enough for the Schmatterhorn. So I’m glad we went , now off to dinner at Chili’s .
So you changed your mind , eh !?
Good for ya, . . . . exercise (and help the ‘economy’)

I was planning to attend, just not doing it as an exhibitor, as it was we didn’t get there until 2:30, then my wife wanted to hear the Michael Broggie Disney presentation at 3, so I was only able to walk around for about an hour, but I see the same layouts at every show, and I missed out on the before the show opens uber-rich deals on used G at Bridgemasters, so there wasn’t much for me to look for to start with. But they had a big box of two dozen large scale trees that they were selling used, $5 each or the whole box for $30, that was a no brainier decision. So it was worth the trip just for that.
Forgot to mention that there will be ANOTHER GTS at Pomona, July 8-9.
So with the apparent demise of the BTS it’s good to know that the GTS is stepping up to fill the gap.
