Large Scale Central

Working with photos to post to Large Scale Central, using a MAC?

I am going to try and post a series of photos on my layout, and have some information on how to do it, using a PC.
I was wondering, is there anybody out there that has used a MAC for posting pictures? If so, do you have a site that would direct me how to do so?
Thank you.

Noel

Noel,
You might try contacting Mike O Malley. I know he uses a Mac and has posted pictures here.
Just click the e-mail under his name in this thread.

No different using a Mac or a PC. You need photo editing software to manipulate the photo (iPhoto will work in a pinch, Photoshop Elements is better, Photoshop is ideal). Once you have that, you’ll need storage space somewhere on the web to put the photo. Your ISP may give you storage space, or Bob gives you space here if you buy a Freight Shed. Then, you’ll need an FTP program to manage that space. For the Mac, I use a program called Transmit. It lets you log into whichever server you need to gain access to, and manage your files.

Once you’ve got your files uploaded to the server, you merely need to type the URL of the image to get it to display here. On other forums, you may need “tags” to get the image to display, or you may need HTML coding. But here, just the URL. Pretty simple. In truth, the only difference between Mac and PC here is the particular FTP software you use. Transmit is Mac specific.
