With the fun we had on this year’s Build Challenge, I’ve carried it on with the next project…a silo for the barn I built a few years ago.
I started with those cleaner wipe containers - gluing them top to top and filling one of them up with ballast for weight:
…next, I used scaled 2x6s to cover the sides…
…I then trimmed up the boards and put the cap on the top…
My next step was to cover the cap with tin plate. doing some research on the Internet, I came across a program a guy wrote that gave me the template I needed for a 12 gore top (or you can choose the number of gores you want). Using Inkscape, I scaled it to what i needed, used my wife’s crafting cutter and drew out the template on the tin plate. Now I need to cut it out and solder it together. I’ll post when I got that done (hopefully this weekend).
