Nice video, thanks, steve
I had forgotten that the PT’s were wood.
It would be great to see a video with those three 1800hp Turbo-charged Packards opened up a wee bit

Sweeeet! Thanks Steve, I’m reading the book PT109 right now, great read! That looks definetly like an Elco boat, its the same class as PT109. I’m a big fan of mosquito boats, I’ll have to find out where they berth her and try to check it out if I’m ever back up that way.

One of the best really bad war movies ever made was PT 109. I watch when ever it appears on the TV sked.
I read the book when I was in Junior High. It is worth another read.

And from the movie “In Harm’s Way”
From Warner Brothers, a short called Devil Boats
Part 1
Part 2
Almost makes me want to ship over… almost.
Dont forget “They Were Expendable” the PT boats were as much stars as the actors in that one.
A truely, great movie.
Thanks Steve,
I sometimes forget you can find most anything on youtube.

The Jap destroyer in the movie PT 109 , was the USS Peterson DE 152 , which I served on just after the movie was filmed .
Some of the movie was filmed in the fla keys , and several of the Petes crewmen were in the movie , signalmen for sure .
I was sittin in home room class in junior high school reading PT 109 on Nov. 22 1963 and some girls walked by the door crying. A few seconds later the news about Pres Kennedy came over the speakers in class.
Ken were both showing our ages but all i was doing that same day was sucking on my binky and waiting for the next bottle…
