Where can I find a diagram or information online about the dimension for the timbers used in bridge/ trestle construction?. What I would like is the sizes for the bents, top stringers and cross arms, decking and stuff like that. I have found many pictures and diagrams, but no dimensions included. I am wanting to build a Howe thru truss or truss type bridge 1/24 scale…Thanks, Travis

Try here.
That site has a link at the bottom that no longer exists.
However, the author now has his own site.
The trestles are here: http://www.rhyman.org/articles/trestles-rgs-style
Caution, look only at my link!
Otherwise you might never come back here!
I have one 10 minutes from the house and the timbers ar 24" -28" square on it…The tie’s support the decking you walk on and the are 12 by 12.
Almost every railroad had its own specifications for trestles, I would imagine it would vary wildly depending on the wood/suppliers availible…
Thanks fellas…
