Memories …brought on by Shay locomotives and Great friendship of the past…
Every time someone shows a picture of a Shay, or a rail logging operation, I instantly think of, and remember a great friend, Bart Salmons. He passed away a number of years ago…Ken Brunt was another of our great friends here on LSC…
LSC has never been the same since their passing…there are others, still living that seldom if ever grace these forums, the chat room or even email to past friends.
Gary Buchanan, Norm Andrews, Ric Golding, and Bruce Chandler…and even the owner of this web site, Bob McCown are not here much anymore…if ever.
Even I am not paying as much attention to it, as I once did. It would be FRIENDLY, Pleasant, and enjoyable if some of the living Friends from the past could drop in and share their latest LS railroading experiences with some of the newer members of the LSC gang…we can learn so much from their experiences and knowledge

The Pickering is special to me, because I worked at a Boy Scout camp located at one of their abandoned logging camps one summer (a LONG time ago). I came home with a water tank spout I found out in the woods (and got permission to take). Wierdest day I had there was spent spraying the inside of a water tank with a hose, so the boards would swell enough to hold water again.
