Winters coming

Tried plowing today, chipped off a piece off the front on ice, rammed a little too had I guess

Not as heavy as it needs to be, thinking about adding more weights tot he entire bottom, and sealing them in the frame

wings tend to open with snow when in reverse, so i added these silver pieces to lock the rail in the closed position

I added a strip of brass on the bottom of the plow blade.

And the inside has an empty Speed Stick Deoderant container cut down and used to work the wings in and out.

I never knew you owned a plow Ken. I guess if it snows in July it might see some action!

Here’s some better pix:

The weights came from the K’s tender when I added the bat/rc to it.

Jon, that was the first scratch built car I ever built. It was from plans in GR mag, and it has plowed snow…

But that was way back when I was younger and dumber…

I have to admit, the longer this cold weather hangs on the more I’m agreeing with you Ken. Saturday was nearly 50. Spent quite a bit of time outside running trains. Sunday was mid 30’s. I ran one train around for the tunnel video and came right back in and watched the sun through the window!

Jon, I worked out in that crap for 40 years, playing in it doesn’t appeal to me much anymore…

Most of my layout is still buried, but I did manage to test fit the spillway for the mill, although where the snow is gone, I now have squishy, greasy mud.
