Large Scale Central

Winter 2014/15

The second load has arrived, this one is fluffy - the last load was like concrete.

Could have been a bit more to cover all the Ponderosa needles.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…

Found time this weekend to run a short freight through the snow! We had a bit of freezing rain as of late, so opening up the line was difficult for #1055 at 35deg F. Snow was just soft enough to push. I ended up bringing out shovel afterward to clean up what she left behind. By evening all the snow had rehardened into ice.

Jeff
I’m jealous!!
Still have 6" of leaves that I need to clean up!

What a great setting you have there, Jeff! Your trains look great in these pictures. My favorite is the one with the elevator in the background. Cheers and thanks for posting!

Hi Sean…the leaves were crazy! I tried a new tactic in the woods this year: ran the push mower in mulch mode to cut the volume. Afterward I used the blower and rakes to load up my tarps. Ten trips cleaned out the whole area!

Thanks John! The kids and I had a great day!

Better get to it or you’ll need to wait until spring!

All our snow melted except for a few lumps here an there. Thought of running a train on Sunday as it was nice and sunny, but the fireplace in my work area was more inviting. I must be getting old like Ken!

Snow looks much better from the picture window…

The pictures look great guys. No snow here just rain.

Chuck

neither here, just cold wind.

Impressive pictures!

Yep, Jeff has it nailed!
Nice sunshine, trains running and super scenery. One day (soon) I’ll hopefully be as lucky.

Meet Rockwall Canyon #4! She’s not really new to me, but I think she just found a new purpose on the RCRR…steam excursions!
