My home computer (I am at work at the moment) just updated to the new version of windows, I think it is 8.1…
It has really changed how a lot of things operate, but one issue I am having is I can’t type in this comment field that I am typing in right now.
I can type in the topic title box, and I can select post topic… but that’s it, nothing else.
Everything works fine from my work computer and from my Iphone, just my home computer that updated to 8.1.
Any ideas?
Vincent, does the new windows have IE11?? if so, there’s a fix for that… would be the same fix as previously shown on here, i would assume…

If I knew what IE11 was I would tell you if it has it!
I will read up on the link when I get home, thanks

Your Web Browser Vinny, is it Internet Explorer 11?
If so, click on the gear on the top right. Go to “Compatibility View Settings”.
Enable "Compatibility View for LSC.

I guess that was it!
Works like it should, well, at least like it used too!
I guess I spoke too soon…
I can post ok, but if I click on a picture now to enlarge it I just get a black screen.
Aint technology wunderful?
I even had automatic updates turned off, but somehow it still updated to 8.1.
Generally I only get 2-years out of a computer…they somehow always end up getting smashed to pieces
Crap, it is IE11…
ie11 works for me on win 8,1 compatibility mode is your friend
I had LSC set to compatability mode, everything but looking at photos works.
If I click on a picture to enlarge it I just get a black screen
picture test
So…long story short,
We downloaded FireFox, however, with the firefox download came a virus…
Spent until 1am this morning trying to fix it, then Penny spent another 5hrs today trying to fix it.
Nothing, notta, useless P O C!
Couldn’t get rid of the virus, computer would seem like it was acting normal for a few minutes then it wouldn’t let you do anything. You couldn’t change websites, you couldn’t click/open any links or files.
So we will just say that computes life was cut very short as I have zero patience…
It is the main reason why I don’t spend over $400 for a computer, they only have a lifespan with me of about 2-years.
So, went and bought new computer…it came loaded with IE11…
Set compatibility view for LSC and most everything is back to normal, the only issue I still have is that I can’t click on a picture to enlarge it anymore, all I get is a black screen.
I can post, post pictures, copy links…just can’t enlarge pictures.
Vincent, if you need help with the old computer let me know…we can set up a remote thing and I’ll figure it out.
I’m a system administrator by trade and I enjoy stuff like that. Yeah, I think I’ve lost it.

Thanks Robbie, someday I may take you up on the offer!
I’m using IE11, version 11.0.9600.16521…
What do you do to enlarge pictures? Where are you clicking on a picture to see it enlarge?
Nothing happens on pictures on this site… I am unaware of a function to enlarge a picture by clicking on it in IE.
Also, when you install firefox, you needed to go to firefox.com … if you googled firefox, you would find a ton of sites that offer it, and give you viruses, etc. Always look at the real address of the link before you click.
To get rid of your “virus” get a copy of malwarebytes… you can get it from filehippo.com without any extra junk, or go to malwarebytes.org… when installing, at the very last step, DO NOT ACTIVATE THE TRIAL… then you will have the free version that never expires…
If you have more problems, email me privately… don’t give up hope, it can be fixed.
Greg
p.s. the “zoom function” in IE 11 works fine on this site… control-plus or control-minus…

Go to any picture or any album that is on this site, if you click on a picture it will open it up in a bigger box.
With IE11, the box that opens is just all black…no picture.
Go in my profile, select my album Trains.
It will open showing 50 or so small pictures, click on one and it will open it up so you can go through one picture at a time…but with IE11, it doesn’t work…you just get a black box.
