Large Scale Central

Window Width

Howdy I’ve had a couple of concerns/complaints about the forums. Specifically that some images are getting cut off on the right. It seems to do with what resolution you have your monitor set to, and what font size you have set. But Id like to get a larger sample from the general public. So.

Can you see all the way to the end of that image? The very last thing should be a vertical red line where 800 should be. If you see less of it, please post the following: Monitor resolution (800x600, 1024x768, etc), and if you have fiddled with your browser font size. Thanks to TOC for this suggestion. Working toward a better site… Thanks

Hi Bob,

If I expand my window for full size, I can see just past 700.

Running WIN XP, IE 6.0.2900, Screen Resolution set to 1024x768 an Text Size in IE set to Medium.

The biggest problem for me would be that there is no horizontal scroll bar to let me see the right edge.

The good thing is that the large images do not cause the text to go beyond the window like it does on Snitz forums.

Jon

About 725 for me.

Dead on 730
Mike

755 if I’m reading the scale correctly, resolution at 1024x768 and font size set to normal in Firefox.

I think y’all need to quit while ya still need glasses…Ive got like two inches of yellow past the redmark…

Bob:

750 here, and no horizontal scroll bars available to see the 800 mark.

Display full screen on a 12" Mac Power Book at 1024 x 768.

I’ll try it on my 20" monitor tomorrow.

Happy RRing,

Jerry

That was at work.

At home Win 95 / IE 5.5 / Text Size Medium / Screen Resolution 1152 x 864 I see the red line for 800 and a half inch of backgroung beyond the graphic with the browser maximized.

734.999999 for me or there abouts.

Ditto, exactly.
JimC.

410 on the button.
800X600 resolution (needed to keep the toolbars and such visible).
Medium fonts, XPPro, SP2, IE6.

If I close the favorites bar on the left side, 506.
If I set my font size to “smallest”, 556.

And then I can’t read whut ah’m tiping anymure.

Oh, there, back to medium text size and I can read it again.

I know if I change resolution, it will get better, and if I go to large text size, I can read the text okay, but the address bar, tool bar, etc are squint time.

Not quite 1/4 of the screen to the right of this message box is white, nothing there at all.

With the “Favorites” bar open on the left, the egde of the box lines up exactly with the “D” in Classifieds on the top menu bar of this page.

Best I can get without changing resolution is Roy’s hands and the tip of his nose in “Switching Quandary”, can’t see the whole Shay, nor the track to the right of it, nor the buildings to the right of that.

Looks like you could lose 75 to a 100 units from the name bar on the left side and it would give most everyone a full view !

As I see it, about 625 but that is just fine as I have no problems with that. The eyes are shot so seeing anything is great.

Cheers,

Darryl-
The issue is how much of the pictures you can see.
The graph, along with your OS and resolution will help Bob figure this out.

Look at the photo I posted under “Switching Quandary”.

How much of the right side can you see?
Can you see the entire Shay?
The track to your right of it?
The three buildings to the right of that?

TOC

In that case , I can see three roof trusses on the third building to the right of the loco . Does that help ?
Does the picture get tired and thin coming all the way to England ?
Mike

Just tried this test on my Sony Laptop with the 15.4 wide screen.

800 is easy, could go to 1280 with some to spare.
