Cale,
Nothing that I’m aware of unless you want to travel up to Wellsboro and run the Tioga Central (about 45mins from Trout Run which is where I believe your going) There is a big train shop in Montoursville but mainly HO stuff.
Your welcome to stop by my home if you wish if it’s a weekend, not sure how your traveling but I’m about 15mins from all the interstates that pass though Harrisburg.
The victorian architecture in Willamsport is outstanding…Little League hall of fame is there…it’s gorgeous up that way and fishing/ hiking will keep you busy I’m sure. There is a little grocery store/gas station off the Trout Run exit on US 15 that is excellent. Little deli case and all. If your headed close to me send me an e-mail
Have fun
Dave

Cale,
If you can stop for a day on your travels, the B&O Museum in Baltimore isn’t too far out of your way.

SteamTown wouldn’t be too far from where you are going. Nice day trip.

Also the RR Museum of PA. in Strassburg. Could be a stop on the way.

One of these days I’m going to take a trip and visit all three.

Steamtown is very close. If your not going to be far from me you can stop by for a visit. Im about and hour from Scranton/Steamtown. What dates are you going to be up this way?

The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania is an awesome sight and has some nice trails to hike outside of Wellsboro and Tioga Central RR. The Pennsylvania Lumber Museum has some old logging RR, a Climax and some logging cars.

I lived up that way (Hughesville) in my early teens. Williamsport was pretty much a s___h___ back then. Hopefully it has gotten better but I’m not holding my breath. Bowser maker of nice small scale stuff is also in Montoursville.

Hi Cale,

Grisley has a big tool outlet store in that area. You could spend half a day in there and not see everything. I realize its not train related but it would be worth checking out.

Chuck

I understand from another source that there’s a model train museum up that way. I have no idea where. All I know is the guy’s been bugging me to ride up with him to see it.

Also this time of year, the Little League World Series is going on, so it may be a bit crowded up there.

Nelson,
In Williamsport there is a museum, called Thomas T Taber Museum first floor history of area, lower floor has nice trains displays most were from a private collection.
www.tabermuseum.org. Check out permanent exhibitions in their listings.
There is also a model train shop in Montoursville very close to Williamsport, called English Model Railroad, varoius scales, several working train dislays.

thanks guys!

I think we are gonna try to do the Tioga Central, Hiwatha Steam Boat, and the Museum-may try the store in Montoursville…the Grizzley store is a MUST (been there, love it, many hours pass while inside!).

Yep, Trout Run…

We’ll be blasting our way up there to relax, we’ll see how that goes.

again thanks for the replies!
