Large Scale Central

Will you be hit by the Chinese space station?

Who knows, supposed to re-enter the earth at 0:18 UTC, that is about 5:30pm here on the west coast TODAY.

The thing is the size of a bus… most of the fragments will burn up on re-entry, but there is actually a possibility big chunks could hit something, and in the US.

Here’s the link to the tracker:

Just keep refreshing, it refreshes every so often, but you can see where it is…

Fear not people of Earth… I am on duty. Disintegration Ray Gun fully charged, Amber Vision goggles strapped on, Blue Anti-Radiation Suit to full power.

Just let that Chinese UFO Station show its solar panels in LSC air-space and… KAPLOOHEY!!! It’s smoke and memories.

Don’t thank me fellow citizens, thank BD for having the foresight to create the LSC UFO Defense Force…and of course if this fails it has been nice knowing all of you.

Relax…you know these things always wind up in New Mexico.

if you keep refreshing the thread (use a forced refresh, like control-shift-r for firefox) it will update…

By the way, I will definitely be INDOORS when this happens. (although it being night, we might see the stuff burning up in the atmosphere)

The tracker I’ve been following http://www.satflare.com/track.asp?q=37820#TOP

And finally decided to add something I’ve been thinking about saying, enjoying playing with words, how long until Tiangong is Tiangoing-going-gone?

Unless it hits here we’re going to be seeing nothing,

Back in '79, I won a tee shirt in the guess when ‘Skylab falls’ contest in LA.

We? pretty inclusive eh? (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)Y’know there is more than Missouri … just sayin’

Hard to believe I know.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

We have high overcast, so we’ll at least know what hits us.

North of 43° North. No worries.

F5 key does the same refresh. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Well dang. It just looks like my congressperson is not much of a possibility. Life goes on. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

It didn’t crash, it was shot down by Aliens!!!

Not really Joe, this is just like our other thread. Shortcuts that sometimes work!

F5 does a refresh USUALLY, if the browser thinks the page may have changed, but some times browser is not as smart as it thinks it is.

The forced refresh ALWAYS works. (I cannot tell you the number of times I have been helping someone remotely, and changed a page on my site and I have to go through this explanation).

Funny, a well respected “expert” finally admitted to me: “Greg, you always give the bulletproof method, I just give something that usually works and if it does not work then I try something else”… It took this guy nearly 10 years to understand why I argue with him and his advice to newcomers, or when you post information that may be used by people not necessarily experts.

p.s. Forrest’s link is better for showing exactly where it is right now.

Looks good for us, bad for people in Chile… 1/2 hour to go

This just in… a piece of the space station broke off or was ejected… Wouldn;t you know it landed just outside of Roswell on the Foster Family Farm in a repeat of the 1947 incident!!!

Yeah that’s right the LSC UFO Defense Force is on the job!!!

missed Chile, heading for Africa, 138 km altitude, prediction was plus minus 1.7 hours… use Forrest’s link.

Greg

So glad we are still 4/1, this is fun.

apparently the debris field is north west of Tahiti.

So much for predictions.

Yeah, you are right, no April Fools posts anywhere…

Greg

Where is the KABOOM?, there was supposed to be an Earth shattering KABOOM?

Come K9 we must see what happened to the U 238 Space Modulator!!

OOOOH this makes me very Angry!!!

In '79 I was art director for a silkscreen t-shirt company. I came up with a silly cartoon of a guy holding a riveted, steel umbrella as the flaming Skylab is about to hit him, with the words, “I survived the crash of Skylab”. We sold a ton of those shirts, and even got a brief spot on the local news.

Well, they lost control of the unit in 2016, so no controlled descent. If you were living in Tahiti you might have been concerned!

Yeah, Skylab was also an uncontrolled descent, and several pieces hit a remote part of Australia, things like oxygen tanks survived.
