Nice work Marilyn. Dave’s got competition!
A couple of updates to the painting. Life this week has got in the way of major paint time. But she got more done.
The Delivery Van.
And she is struggling on the end of the gon on the detail, I’ll get her a better pic to work from.
She plans to spend more time this week on it, as there is only 12 days left till submit deadline, and its Oil on canvas so it has to dry a bit too.
Very, very nice composition on the water tower canvas, Dave… Be neat to see it done…
She has very nice style… Very nice…
Very Nice!!!
Up date on the painting; She has until the 7th to get it turned in.
Color is off from the mix of lighting, and I didn’t run them thru Photoshop.
This is my lovely wife Marilyn at the studio today.
The central part of the painting.
And some engine detail. D&RGW 482
More work to do on the detail stuff, and a couple of minor corrections. She’ll make it.
She dun good!!!..
I love it;)
Dave,
You are truly blessed. You have a spouse who shares in both of your passions - art and trains (not sure which order). I am jealous .
Oh, and her art work is really good as well. If the price is right I just might have to adorn a wall with one.

Wow that is turning out awesome.
man that is a great job, please tell her she is FANTASTIC!
She really captures the scene well.

Marilyn, that’s great!
Dave, you’ve got competition!
All the above… Just wonderful…
Super stuff!
It’s Done!
The wife finished the painting in time to make the deadline for entering in the show. She has received many complements, and rave reviews from accomplished artists and lay people on the work. I think that it is one of her better works, but of course i’m prejudice as it’s her first train picture.
The show requires all entries to be “Priced and for sale” I’m sorta hoping that it doesn’t sell, so she priced it at $3895.00. Her mentor says that it’s priced to low.
It is, Oil on Canvas and 24" x 36" size. If it sells she has promised me she would paint me another. We are hopping to put it on loan at the museum for more exposure, then someones office.
I have copied it in ultra high res (550 Mb file) and we will be producing Giclee prints on fine art papers and stretched canvas in limited additions, in several sizes. Prices to be determined later.
Sorry but I have to put the watermark on to protect the image from thieves and for copyright protection.
BTW: for my friends here at LSC, very special pricing if your intrested.
Wow, that turned out great! Really beautiful work!
Very nice, Great colors.
Beautiful. If I didn’t already have a closet full of prints waiting to be hung and no place to hang them I’d be interested in a print.
She did a fantastic job… great painting…
That really came out nice! It really captured the time.
Art is one of those things where assigning value is often like herding cats. It can go all over the place. I have seen stuff I thought was very good and very desirable selling for very low prices, and I have seen what I consider utter contemptible crap asking 5 or more figures!
I think its a great price for its size.
