Brian,
That lead paragraph is funny as hell,  thatās the very first time I hear about an institution, department or ministry using cocaine, accepting gifts or having any sex at all, never mind misconducted one. Sheesh and all this under the Republican watch?
I know! Sex-n-Drugs-n-Oil!
Makes you think of fun days of the seventies.

Brian,
The āDatelineā on the article is Washington. That says quite a bit in itself. Corruption is the name of the game, no matter who is in charge. Some people thrive on it and some people want to stay as far away from it as possible. No excuses, no matter who is in charge they should be prosecuted and, if guilty, locked away.

Ralph,
I stand corrected, but my point stands if it involves government, corruption can not be far away.
Hmmmmm.
Denver is a liberal bastion. The people involved in the āscandlesā are civil servants who live in Denver.
The one who blew the whistle is a Republican appointee.
Hmmmmmm.

Quote:Depends on where you look. Certainly not in my district--sometimes I wonder why I bother to vote in the local elections, except to give the Dems some solace.
... I didn't know Denver was liberal.
Of course, if Steve is implying that because Denver skews Democratic, and the civil servants involved lived in the Denver metro area, that they must be Democrats, then thatās not exactly sound logic, is it? Of course, the notion that all civil servants āmustā be Democrats might explain Ricās distrust of them.
Later,

Kevin,
I saw your smiley face and take no offense to what you said.
"Of course, the notion that all civil servants āmustā be Democrats might explain Ricās distrust of them. "
I donāt know if they would all be classified as Democrats, but I think many would be classified as having āLiberal big government feelingsā with the emphasis that all good comes from the government and capitalism is a nasty
word. I have also thought that Colorado is an extremely liberal state.

I understand that, but even the conservatives seem extremely liberal. Just an observation from visiting there many times. Lots of welfare programs and high taxes.
