White Christmas

Woke up to a White Christmas… 1st time in 10 or so years… New Mexico Northern Rail Road needs a Plow! Now by most of the country this isn’t much to claim, but we only get this stuff a couple few times a year.

It’s headed to the high forties today, so it wont last for long…

Hey, we’re just trying to let Dave fknow he’s part of the crowd

Nice photos, I’m jealous! We had a partly white, partly brown slushy mud Christmas… makes for “too ugly to take” pics.

Harass? Us? Pure as the driven snow, us'ns is. Speaking of which, we're waiting for four+ inches of said snow on Thursday -- not much compared with what's hitting the middle USofA right now. Just looking at the weather on TV: TORNADOES in December! ... Spent a couple of hours this morning breaking up the snow/ice from last week's dump on the driveway and shifting it out of the way, so I can move the trailer ... oooh, my back.

We are currently getting hit with more snow. Up to 4 inches already and coming down heavy. Looks like Ill be plowing again tomorrow.

Yep snowing as i post. I think it is predected of about a 1" or 2". Its really pretty, nice big flakes falling down slowly. Makes you almost wanna curl up in front of the fire and nap.

Dave,
I lived near Farmington in 8th grade, I remember snow back then. We were over in a little town nearby, Bloomfield? Spent some time in Aztec also. Then went to Grants. My dad was a pipefitter and we were trailer trash.

@Jerry I’m guessing early 60’s. Was the D&RG still running? and was it pipe that came in on the train?. BTW my wife taught in the Bloomfield schools for 12 years… Not the 8th grade tho.

We picked up 6.5 inches yesterday and today. Still snowing. Got the line opened up but had to cheat. No way the train was going through the 6.5 inches and packed snow.

My hopes for plowable snow were dashed early this morning when the snow turned to rain. We now have about 4" of heavy wet slush and deep freeze temps coming. This might completely cancel the wither season for the railroad.

I was able to clear the line by hand but the snow keeps blowing over everything. Here is what I delt with this morning.
