Where do you purchase your rail spikes? I know Switchcrafters had them but according to there website and a previous topic here, they are closing. Micro Engineering doesn’t have away to order online, at least as far as I can tell. Who else carries them. Thanks for your help.
Dan,
The last bunch I ordered from Gregory @ RGSRR hobbies. I think they were drop shipped from ME. not many other choices that I am aware of.
AL P.
Switchcrafters is still there, they just aren’t making switches any more.
I ordered spikes and rail from them.
However their spikes are from Microengineering, as I suppose their rail is too.
Llagos Creek is another one:

Thanks Al & Ken. I’ll take a look at those suggestions. I have purchased items from Switchcrafters before but I had assumed they were closing up the entire store.
I just ordered rail from them about 2 months ago, but if they aren’t open Micro sells spikes.
Ken - can you order from Micro online or does it take a phone call? I saw the spikes on their website but could not find where to place an order.
I’d go with Switchcrafters. I looked on Micromark’s website, but they don’t advertise the 1/2 inch spike that you want. BTW, I’ve had good results using Bruce’s Spiker with the 1/2 inch spikes, despite admonitions to the contrary.
Bruce is one of the good guys. I hope he beats his medical problems
I i got my from Micro Engineering. Just drop them a line. I wish they would take online orders. Calling is just as fast.

I ordered the spikes from Switchcrafters, Dan. It’s been a long while since I’ve ordered anything from MicroEngineering. or if I ever did. Probably bought stuff through a dealer. The do have a downloadable Order Form, so that may be what I did.
Thanks Ken. I sent Bruce at Switchcrafters an email. He replied and said he was still processing orders for off the shelf items such as rail and Micro Engineering products. He also stated that he was still building switches but at a much slower pace and one needed to contact him directly to get an estimate of how long it would take him to build said switches.
Good deal!
