We have been using Photo bucket for years and now they keep changing there site and hard to get around in it… Keep working with them on there problems but just not getting anywhere with them… can’t up load photo or edit what there if i can find them…
Hate to lose all of the train photos and other thing we have.
Just wondering what others use to store photos on so you can share on the internet with others besides using Photo bucket.
It’s just nice to say to friends, here is our photo of our trains with out having to hassle with the site to get to them.
Noel,
For posting photos here, I use Bob’s Freight Shed.
For friends, I have my Facebook Albums.
What you probably want is this. I have several photographer friends who use this site: http://www.flickr.com/tour/10?AID=10883409&PID=5479587&SID=e5226402900656446

I use Dropbox for most of my photo hosting these days, as none is really on any highly frequented forums. Drag into a folder, right click -> copy public link. Easy.
There’s a few That I use. Yahoo is one, which is the old Geocities site, and I’ve upgraded it to the business site which cost a few cents a month, but it’s easy to use. For family pix my niece opened an account on Shutterfly, that the whole family uses. She’ll go through them in October and pick out the best ones and then makes a calender which has all the birthdays, anniversaries, etc on it. Then there’s Trainweb, which is not a user friendly site, but you can store a lot of train pictures there for free. Photobucket has become my catchall site since I find it the easiest to use. And occasionally I’ll use the Freight shed here on LSC. And I’m sure that there are plenty of other free sites out there. Videos I usually dump on Youtube.
I also use photobucket.
Tk’s all for the come back…
Ralph B. I don’t care much for Facebook and have a few things in the frt. shed. Still trying to fig out how to get my stuff off the other R.R. site to change over when that sub. is up. They just have to many problem over there. Also, that is nice but photo are not just public to all so that is why I used photo bucket to store stuff for all to see at any time.
Flickr , Sounds promising.
Robbie H. Ya …I have Dropbox with some stuff in it for the Merc H. to upload large files to the Maz. if needed. But not a public thing with out a pass word. Not sure …may be missing something?
Ken Brunt… Ya … We did some stuff on Yahoo with the SVGRS. here in Sacramento, Ca. But…we use to use it as a train group link. Still not what we are looking for like Photo Bucket was.
Guess we just got spoiled on how easy photo bucket use to be and looking around for something like it that we can move photos around. Make photo groups like we do with our Ho Trucking Co. and other stuff.
Years ago we used Geocities and still have part of our old site up there but can’t get into it. In thro days, was only able to get 3 to 4 pic’s on a page… lol.
Jake Smith… Are you having any problems with Photo bucket on edit or uploading and see all of your group folders like we are… We was thinking it was something to do with Win. 8 and IE-10 stuff. but we check on our other computers with Win XP and Win Vista with IE-8 and same there to for us.
Here is our site…
http://s187.beta.photobucket.com/user/noelw71/library/
Have to click on the arrow and luck if anything comes out and able to see any photos…
We’er still working with Photo bucket team on fig. out what the heck they did on upgrade of new programing they have done… so guess they are using us for more and more of the Screen shots and guess over 20 or so e-mails sent back and forth wth there team… but getting tired of this crap to be the ginnie pig… lol.
Tk’s again guys for the come back and sill looking … Noel & Jane
Darn, Photo bucket found some of my photos today, even signing in, still can’t do much in it yet.
Nice bunch of photos Noel. I just chose at random, I hope you don’t mind.
You do have an extensive bunch.
Noel, I use Photo-Bucket too. In the upper right corner there is a “go back to the old Phot-bucket” link. They have had some serious bugs with the new “skin” so I “opted out”. No doubt someday soon we won’t have that option.

I thought Flickr was one of the sites that blocks copying or re-posting? I use Google Picasaweb as the desktop version is the easiest I have found for finding photos in my computer - it has a fast, seamless scroll. And I can use Googe Sites to make up free websites that only cost me the price o the name, like http://www.ebt-in-fn3.info/ Some other places I store photos? Comcast is my internet provider, and they still host a bunch of photos of mine as they give you several GB of free space. This pic is dated 2003!

Pete Thornton said:Maybe copying ?, but you can post the link to the Flickr photo or web album. In Facebook, I know the link "embeds" the photo. Don't see why it wouldn't do so here or elsewhere. RalphQuote:I thought Flickr was one of the sites that blocks copying or re-posting?

Can’t copy a photo? I have often found this application, free to download, helpful:
Hi Mark V. That’s one of my problems is not able to click on old photo bucket link. I show it to the Photo bucket team and got rid of all cookie as they suggested and still get a shaded screen when I click on it to go back and then nothing changes… Have to get out of the link to get back again. Something is not working on my end using Win xp, Win vista and now on this Win 8. Kind of funny that other computers are using Ie-7, Ie-8 and this one with Ie10… So something is wrong with photo bucket cookies or something my Comcast server is doing maybe? Hate putters… lol. I forgot that Comcast has I thing 2 Gigs of customers space I think. Ok…they ( team help) got it back on old links temp. for now. See if I can get it in.

Ya… Dave… No problem… We have a few guys that model Ho Trucks and cars… so we started up yr’s ago the Feather River Trucking co. that is now up to 101 pc. of equip. We model around the 50 and later . That’s why we use any type of equip. and modify it for our use.
I have been using Picassa web albums with good luck for several years. Has its quirks but works for me
