Ever put in bids on several ebay items that usually are in high demand, hoping to get maybe one or two? Then end up winning 5 or 6?
anything good Ray?
Don’t ya hate it when that happens Ray Hurt’s the pocketbook somewhat too!!! The Regal
Yep, happened to me once. Sign up for a service like e-snipe and you can set up bid controls so that if you win one it cancels the other/s. You can string as many as you want together but the end times need to be at least 5 minutes apart. I have reasonable disipline but this keeps me from over-bidding due to emotion. Try it.
Geoff George said:Yep, and at fairly reasonable prices. I just would have preferred not to take such a big collective hit to the wallet all at once. Oh well.

I’ve noticed that while LGB prices on Evilbay have gone up yet again with Marklin going kaput, all the other brands are down, some way down.
prices are almost to the point that I am willing to start to buy some stuff.
So Ray, what did u get?
I got several years of the Narrow Gauge & Short Line Gazette, including the first issues. This fills in most of the gaps in my collection. I first subscribed in 1982 and kept it up until 1992 when I gave up on railroading. When I started on my outdoor layout I re-upped, and since then I’ve been gradually collecting all the ones I missed.
The Gazette is the one model railroad magazine that I enjoy reading over and over, and it has so much good reference material that it never really gets outdated.
Yes,
Excellent publication for us NGer’s. I base all my bridges and structures from this mag.
Rumors are it’s gong to 4 issues a year however larger volumes.
Nuttin for those dismal modern day guys.
I quit GR last year because it could scan it in 10 minutes and toss it into the pile.
So…YOUR the angst faced guy at the train shows that’s always standing next to me while I thumb through stacks of old issues of the Gazoo looking for new ones to add to MY collection.“Oh no dont take that issue, arrgh!!”
John Bouck said:Ack! I hope not! I go through withdrawal already, having to wait two months between issues.

I put in really low bids almost hoping not to win on ebay. Usually I don’t, but I have had weekends where I won multiple auctions. Mostly items I don’t really need, but cost under $20.
I had to call my wife today to tell her why another $160 just went to Paypal. I neglected to mention the impulse buy from yesterday. Hard to justify why I needed a Micky and Goofy handcar, but it was a great price.
