I need to try again. That was done when I was on Vista. I should work one on XP.
Olympus FE110 (5.0 megapixel) I like it but don’t really use it to it’s potential
I KNOW I’m a dinosaur. Stuff for online, or just bumming about, I take with an Olympus C-4000 zoom. It does just about everything I need, so as long as I can find software that will let it talk to my pooter I’ll keep using it.
For GOOD stuff, like weddings, or portraits, I’ll use film. Either the Minolta x-570, or Kim’s Canon Rebel 5
Just bought a Nikon CoolPix L20 for Marilyn to use as a pocket point-n-shoot at Disney. Just about $140 with a 4GB SD card. 10 Megapixel, 3X Optical Zoom and a big LCD. It’s a little larger than the other pocket size cameras because it uses AA batteries, but Marilyn liked both the standard battery type and the larger body. We’ll let you know in a week how it does.
Have fun at Disney!
Jon.
Canon Rebel XT digital
Canon 30D
Canon Powershot sd1000
Several lenses for the rebel and 30D
Just sold my old trusty Pentax K1000. Had it for a lot of years.

Really really well. The low light performance without flash is superb. The large / bright LCD worked well for me - which is unexpected because I am a confirmed viewfinder guy. In full auto mode the pictures came out great. The only negative was time until next shot is a tad long.
Marilyn took 90% of the pictures taken with it and most of them came out great.
I only dragged the Digital SLR with me into the park on two days. The only thing th SLR did better was long zooms (which I do a lot of) and continuous shooting for fireworks.
What I wanna see is the pix of you guys scootin around on the lake in them little motor boats they rent…
I have, no make that had, a Cannon S3 IS which was almost exactly 2 years old when it died. Of course it was out of warranty.
I had decided I need a newer camera as my then 8 year old Fuji was getting on a bit. It is very slow taking pics, the Lithium battery kept going flat and lasted about 18 months before crapping out and the Smart Media card was obsolete.
TheCannon screen showed “lens error”. I sent it in to be repaired and was contacted by the Cannon repair dept with a quote that would vary from A$50 to A$232. But not to worry it should only be A$50.
Now I am faced with the higher amount to get the camera back with no new warranty either. So they can go whistle.
I refuse to pay almost half the original purchase cost of the camera to have it fixed after 2 years use.
That will be the last Cannon product I ever buy.
One day I will buy myself a proper digital movie camera.
The Fuji still takes terrific pics even if it is a bit slow. I can live with that.
In the meantime if anyone has a spare Smart Media card they don’t need, put a reasonable price on it and I will take it.
I just tried out the video section:

Hmm. Not sure it plays right. See http://www.outsidetrains.com/mls/F1Invasion.wmv
Plays OK for me!

The first one (LSCDATA) does not play right for me but the second one (OUTSIDETRAINS) does play OK.
bump
I use a Rebel XT for better stills and a Canon Powershot SD1100IS for movies and most stills.
I use VirtualDub to encode my videos to XviD/MP3 audio before uploading–that’ll take a 200mb uncompressed AVI to 10mb or less. Give me a holler if you want a tutorial on how to use it–I’ll be glad to explain.
