There was a time when gentry drew plans or made notes on their starched shirt cuffs. At least napkins, pizza boxes. or any other throwaway item. won’t incur the wrath of she who does the laundry.

When I worked for “Micro,” in a dept that designed production test equipment, we used to gather for morning and afternoon break at the cafeteria. We’d often draw up an idea on a napkin. Got so famous for that that one day the cafeteria manager approached us, “I had these made for you.” He had a stack of napkins printed “Micro Switch Engineering Form.”
