What's up with LGB/Marklin?

Any insight from those that know?
Data:
1 - Walthers is THE distributor of LGB products – yet, the recent flyer-catalogue shows 1/4 page of LGB with a Christmas edition of a Forney – the singular loco shown. Nothing else.

2 - Meanwhile, TRAINWORLD has “NEW” written on products per the LGB side of its pages of ads in Garden RR.

Wendell,
the Christmas Forney was due last Christmas, but was released in only March. Information that I received was that it was in limited numbers, so I think that the Forney is only a ‘page filler’ awaiting something else to be released. The D&S cars have been out for a month or more so something is getting through.

I heard that LGB/Marklin was getting out of the toy business and going into manufacturing ball-bearings. :stuck_out_tongue:

Walthers has 238 LGB products in stock as of today.

Walthers is a “retail-wholesale” outfit.
You can buy from them and pay full msrp, or buy from any train shop that is a distributee of Walthers for less, if you have a good reportorial with your local dealer.
Trainworld buys from Walthers.
Dealers cost from Walthers is almost 50% less than MSRP.

John-
Thanks for the response.
What continues to be a puzzlement is why, with all of that LGB inventory, Walthers chooses not to promote their inventory in the Walthers “catalogue” or “flyer” they mail apparently either to Model Railroader and/or Garden Railways subscribers?
