Whats in your trunk?

Saw a thread like this on another forum I read. Though it would be good here.

Whats in the trunk of your car?

My Subaru:

Jumper cables
Electric weed whacker
Work Gloves
Box of misc odds-and-ends, probably off the race car
Jug of laundry detergent, full (???)
3 empty plastic Folgers coffee cans
2 rags
Tool kit

I don’t own a vehicle that has a trunk. Sorry.

Mine don’t either…however I do have a cooler in the back of the van…

Music stand. small bass amp, 36 inch clamp, mic stand, some research notes. a book on the slave trade

No trunk, back of the minivan under the pop-lid:

jumper cables, coveralls, wrenches, carjack, blanket and a supply of heavy duty plastic shopping bags (they’ve been in use “for a long time” )

Not really a trunk, but I have…

In the ‘cargo area’:

Small handle tote with two security screwdrivers, P-Touch labeler, clear tape, a 25 foot rule and a utility knife.
Small plastic shoe-box tub with miscellaneous junk too numerous to list
5 Amp 12V inverter left over from the last camping trip.
Flat plug to 7 Round trailer cable adapter
Box of backup tapes from the office - The “off-site” set.

In a little compartment on the wall:
Infalator hose w/gauge
cargo net

Under the floor storage:
Empty garbage bags
A tie-down strap
Big honking 12V searchlight
a towel

This list is way down from what used to be hauled around every day. I put the truck on a diet before our WV trip in anticipation of long hill climbs.

Half a ton of big rocks, some assorted little rocks…some left over flower pots that I need to return to the nursery…a 4 ft section of PT 5/4 …a table saw…table saw stand…and a bag of receipits and sech that needs to be burned…
(Of course its a Dodge Dakota…)

How about a 2 person kayak, paddles, and lifevests?

Remind me never to P^$$ you off, JB!

To answer Bob’s question.
My last vehicle that had a trunk was a 1968 Olds Cutlass.
In that trunk you might have found a few empty beer bottles and such.
I sold it in 1975 and have driven nothing but trucks, land cruisers, broncos, etc, since.

My 52 Merc had a trunk, but I think there was some spare heads (flat heads 8Ba.) in that one.
My 53 Chev I kept oil, cause she used more oil than gas.

But this coming spring my wife and I are going to buy a real car, just for phun.
It will be either the new Camaro, (I want) or, heaven forbid, a Mini Cooper (she wants)

We’ll keep the truck and SUV.

What in the trunk?

The rest of the Elephant of course!

OK bad joke, going back under me rock…

My van has Waaay too much to list in it, so I took a peek in my girlfriend Kim’s. – It looks kind of like some sort of eclectic yard sale in there. Let’s see… there is an AC/DC welder, about 5 empty feed sacks, a small toolbox full of misc junk and spilled hypoid lube (stinky YUCK!), some Kroil (more stinky yuck), a 3# hammer, a claw hammer, a couple crescent wrenches, a pipe wrench, a set of barbells, a 12v sump pump, the old radio for the car, a Manifold and 6v generator for a Farmall H tractor, a hydraulic scissor jack, 2 floor jacks, a couple big clamps, a garden tractor muffler, a couple feet of new exhaust pipe, some rolled up poster/maps (Lewis & Clark, I think), some 10 Ga sheet copper, and some small pieces of sheet steel, a 2 gallon plexiglas hex fish tank, a small gas can, and the spare tire is under there… someplace

Edit: almost forgot, there is 20 feet of air hose, a Wal-Mart bag full of automotive odds n ends, and a roll of toilet paper in there too.

About a thousand rounds, multiple magazines, something for them to plug into, camoflage gear, grease paint, oh, wait, wrong forum.

Mik - I think Kim could get an extra 5 MPG if she unloaded that trunk

Yeah, probably, but then we'd have to trip over all of it somewhere else. Townhouses with small closets and no garage are not a good place for a packrat and a collector of shtuff. (How did Carlin put it? "That's all you need in life, a little place for your stuff." http://www.writers-free-reference.com/funny/story085.htm )
