What to do with a pooper of a New Blight boxcar? Another Goose!

What to do with a pooper of a New Blight boxcar? Why, build another Goose of course!

Needs two of those new USA speeder chassis’ when they get released later this summer, more to come as it progresses. [:D]

Vic, you never cease to amaze me. That’s going to be a really nice project…

Painted

Built a second one just for fun.

Now that you got it built and painted (silver! Chris is just gonna love that!). How you going to power it?

I figured on trying a couple of the bricks from these on each when they get released.

Swap out the trucks on both ends and wire them in tandem. Dont need to move anything but the goose. Should work well.

Yeah I know Chris is gonna blow a chunk but if a goose aint silver, its a duck, hehehe

Vic,

You can always tell Chris: “You just got goosed!”

Now how about painting one black and white, then lettering it “Canada Goose”???

Stick a few Molson, Tim Horton’s and Canadian Tire logos on the box - they would be sponsoring that - add a Red Green figure as the engineer and you’d have “a real show piece”.
Oh maybe add a ski rack on the back and insert a surf board.

Well???

Honk, honk, great geese!

Hey Vic,

A club member had one of these K-line speeders at a meeting two months ago. Its a cute little thing but wasn’t particularly fast (not that that matters) or seem to have much strength to it. Its probably similar to your stomper drivetrains.

Update:

Well the USA speeder turned out to be a bust, seems ya cant really take the body off with out the whole enchillada falling to pieces, so after sitting forlorn on my shelf for the last few months a thought struck me, I have a drive motor/wheelset thats the same from the HLW wadlin’ goose, could I hook it up to a simple battery pack an use that? so I tried some experiments ans found that indeed it does work! So off to Radio Shack for a selection of battery holders! I settled on a 4 AA holder that has an ON/OFF integral switch, carved up an HLW minicar for to mount the drive, screwed it to the underside of the boxcar and got the thingy put together, and… it runs! No track pick ups to install, no dirty track issues, none of that crap! And a little more experimenting showed the 4AA set up worked on the crapzilla drive I took off the Lionel 0-6-0, so a whole new vista of possibilities has opened before me!

Pics soon.

Welcome to the Mafia…you will not be acknowledged again…

Welcome to the Dark Side, Vic!

But, but …it doesnt have any R/C?

Oh well where are those cookies they promised?

The man said it has an on/off switch, so it is definitely digitally controlled.

Great idea for the NB boxcar. I have several that have been out for a couple years that end up on various temporary layouts for “proof of concept”. Besides filling up a siding in the background I have not had any real good ideas how to use them. You’ve made junk into something respectable. They do have one very good use if you have kids around. The locomotives run so poorly I just left them outside for the toddlers and kids who come by to play with. You never know where they will end up. I caught one in a picture where my four year old daughter had left it at a station during a light snowfall. Let me see if I can figure out how to post an image. Look close and you will see its not even on the tracks. Paul
