Large Scale Central

What one does when not modeling

Thanks Cliff, wife and I and our 18 &20 yr old grandkids are riding along with us, so 18 yr old grandson and I are sharing a room and granddaughter and wife are sharing the cross the hall roomettes.
I wanted to go from Portland due to Columbia River Gorge. The couple of times I drove there there it’s awesome. Really looking forward to this trip!

We’re back with another episode of “very large scale modeling”

This time we made a “bigature” hot air balloon for Dancing With The Stars. Took some major figuring out but it played on Tuesday and looked incredible.
Pics attached!

That thing looks amazing, Patrick @PisoMojadoRR ! Geez, sometimes I wish I got to do stuff like that for work.

Thank you. Was a fun build and it’s a fun show to be a part of. Very “showbiz”.
It’s fast turnarounds though so a lot of figuring it out on the fly.
If I could figure out how to post videos I have a clip of the initial flight on the shoot day.

I made a HO layout recently for an upcoming movie. Once it’s out, I’ll post pics but I sure don’t get how people model in HO. I like to see my trains.

hear! hear!

Haha I understand this feeling. I am planning an HO project (Ive had a bunch of stock sitting in the closet for a while) and I am definitely worried about getting all the electrical bits into the engines.

I think the only method on this site is to post elsewhere (i.e. YouTube) and link to it here. That’s what I do.

Photo files couldn’t be easier, just drag and drop your photo file into the reply box. It couldn’t be easier! But videos can only be linked as mentioned above.

We shoot paper and wood creations into the heavens!

On Saturday I had a few COPE high elements open. The climbing wall with an open rappel. Transverse over a 2 wire, then onto the Burma bridge.

Actually, you can drag-and-drop a small video.

I think the size limit is 4MB.

Wow Wayne, that’s amazing.

And I must me on the wrong mailing list, that looks nothing like my COPD gatherings…

Just for the record, C O P E in scouting = Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience. “Cope” can mean to manage or deal with a difficult situation

And COPD Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. For those having trouble shouting out when we go off-piste.
