Large Scale Central

what is going on?

oh, oh, something must be seriously wrong!

this is now the second or third time this year, that i agree with Greg… are we approaching world’s end or something similar?

but, yes, i too think, that facebook attracts many persons with the attention-span of a mayfly. (and at my speed at modeling, that does not serve me)

“Rooster” the main, I like that Greg. If only you could pin the wheels on them steamers so the wheels cant slip on the axles.

Hey Shawn, these train forums so often have sad news about some one passing away, it is really nice to see a new life coming in to the world. Good health to you and your family.

To me, Facebook is a very different animal.

Here, you can look for and share information on specific items. It’s easy to review a thread from beginning to end to learn or understand.

In facebook, it’s like you have Alzheimers, (sorry), one minute there is a topic, the next minute gone, there’s no organization, structure, nor easy way to look back.

I’m here to help and learn. I don’t need to brag how many trains I have, or ask questions about how to use a computer, or cute pictures of animials (although I do enjoy the rooster pictures).

So Facebook is not my “shtick” no offense to those who love it, it’s just too little for what I want to give to the hobby or get from the hobby.

Greg

Oh, what’s going on?

  • levelling sidings that had 5% grades so cars would roll out and fowl (rooster) the main.
  • Learning my Zimo DCC system and programming new QSI Titan files with the “emulator” enabled, really great sound.
  • Clearing out and giving away stuff I do not use, and figuring out how to get my Aristo steamers back on the rails without running 20 minutes and slipping a driver.

Greg

Greg misspelled leveling even after he edited his post!

It’s all good though!

Makes me wonder what 1:1 trains or models for that matter Shawn’s daughter will see when she is my age 29 yrs from now.

Congrats Daddy Shawn …we have plenty of x-acto blades here to stop that but the bag of frozen peas is all on you bro!

Rooster,
Really peas and X-acto blades, Shawn’s going to steam it off with one of his rolling tea kettles!

P.S. Kevin did you get a haircut?

Rooster’s list :

PLANNING…possibly evil ones as well

I didn’t use to plan for stuff and I don’t model off plans however as I age the old guys here are making me plan for stuff. Unlike Shawn. He will learn as he ages though!

Kevin who?

I really meant foul vs. fowl and somehow Rooster came to mind. (In a good way), so I don’t want to call fouling the main Roostering it… I think I can come up with something REALLY creative ha ha!

I did find a good website on getting on the right side of a rooster:

Greg

Well, ok then…

I didn’t have any issues tonight that Roostered the main.

But tonight I finally got both show cars put together, ball bearing inserts, properly gauged, blackened metal USA wheels and all. And ran them around the pike for an hour or so.

Maynard, sounds like this falls firmly in the category known as, “Do more of what makes you happy!” Nice.

John yes it does. And with the ball bearings, my Mogul doesn’t have to work as hard to haul cars up to the summit.
