WHAT IF THERE IS NO MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING?

Last year, 52 scientists authored a much hyped report issued by the UN’s IPCC which said global warming was man-made and getting worse. But in the past year, more than 650 scientists from around the world have now expressed their doubts about the reports findings – 12 times the number of IPCC global warming alarmists now agree it’s bunk.

“I am a skeptic…Global Warming has become a new religion,” says Nobel Prize Winner for Physics, Ivar Giaever. “Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly…as a scientist I remain skeptical,” says Atmospheric Scientist Dr. Joanne Simpson, formally with NASA and called “among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years.” Warming fears are the “worst scientific scandal in history… When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists,” said UN IPCC Japanese Scientist Dr. Kiminori Itoh. “It is a blatant lie put forth in the media that makes it seem there is only a fringe of scientists who don’t buy into anthropogenic global warming,” said U.S. Government Atmospheric Scientist Stanley B, Glodenberg. Top these very few quotes with the fact that 34,000 scientists have now signed a petition saying global warming is probably natural and is not man-made.

David,
a generation ago it was hard to find a doctor who would categorically state that cigarette smoking was cancer causing. The link and the damage impact is apparent today. Even if global warming is part of a ‘natural’ cycle, does that give us the right to wantonly trash our environment. Surely campaigns to clean our world will pay dividends in the future.

If such cycles occurred in the past and are thus 'part of nature', then when they occurred, was the world inhabited by six billion people all spewing toxins into the atmoshere, polluting their drinking water, killing off food resources by degrading farm land and polluting oceans? The world of past millenia is totally different to now and surely the earth could do with a little help. We may not be responsible for the entire problem, but we are definately part of the problem!

Here we go again. I predict

  1. someone will soon post that it’s X degrees where he is, with X inches of snow, therefore global warming is a lie
  2. Ron will post from Alaska and tell us all how we are on “the road to serfdom”
  3. someone will make a post pointing out that last year was “the warmest year on record,” and therefore global warming is a fake and a fraud.
  4. Someone will make a post claiming that Al Gore flies to the post office in a coal fueled jet and keeps the windows open in his heated barn all winter long, sol there ya go, it’s all made up.

I’ll betcha…

Mike,
you left out number 5 -

  1. I have had it with this discussion and will not post further on the topic. If you wish to discuss offline, via PM, then feel free do so.

Sheesh it can’t be true, not according to our heating bills. Haul out them sweaters and don’t sweat the small stuff.

David. If you are right and "we" are wrong, there is nothing to worry about.

If however “we” are right and you are wrong we are in big trouble.

Given your recent history of getting your facts wrong on every subject you address, I doubt you are “right” in this instance.
I guess time will tell.

He is (on the) right most of the time, but his “facts” are seldom correct.

What if there is no man-made global warming?

More importantly, what if there is?

It doesnt matter what the cause is, the FACT that it IS happening IS the issue, and what are we going to do about it?

Listen to the naysayers and sit on our hands until its too late and Florida and half the gulf states dissappear under 10 feet of water along with 10,000s of miles of coastline around the world ???

Vic,
global warming comes under the ‘too hard basket’. It is easier to ignore than fix (in the short term). Even after several generations, ‘greenies’ and ‘environmentalists’ are spoken of in the same manner as ‘communists’ and rapists and are highly distrusted for their apparent motives in highlighting our manmade impacts on the environment. They are nothing more than saboteurs and terrorists to society’s economic goals. How dare they remind us of our guilt. When the seas rise, they will be the first impaled on stakes, by the seaside, to welcome the rising tide.

This is something that has been around for a while, but not discussed here that I remember.

Tony,
if it is not manmade then only one other entity/deity/being could be responsible - GOD!

Do you always speak with your foot in your mouth? What does the decline of the Earth's magnetic fields have to do with God? Ralph

Ralph. First of all you have to prove God exists. If you can do that I will willingly concede your hypothesis is not only possible, but damn near a certainty.

In which case we are all stuffed.

Do you both drink the same kool-aid?
Who said anything about God?
You should stop playing off of Tim’s dribble.
Ralph

Ralph,
you believe that god is responsible for creation and as David’s heading ‘shouts’ that man is not responsible, then who else could it be, aliens? What is this stuff you call kool-aid? Maybe because you are out in the sun so much, you need a refreshing drink to cool your head, as it seems you suffer from an overheated mentality, quite often.

Ralph, talk about thread drift. You accuse me of it and yet are a practitioner of it yourself. I was responding to the actual thread topic NOT a decline in the earth's magnetic fields. If you wish that to be discussed as well, then no problem with me, BUT I was NOT responding to your link, only to the thread topic, as started by your accomplice. When one resorts to such responses, as you have, then I know that you are resorting to last option tactics, commonly called 'clutching at straws'. Good luck, if you want to run with the wolves then expect a bite occasionally. If you want to claim you have been insulted, then stay at home in the den, with the cubs.

Err, I think Ralph was suggesting that maybe global warming is happening but that it is not man/god/alien-made but part of a recurring natural cycle.

I suppose I have to insert the disclaimer here and say that, while I understand Ralph’s point of view, that doesn’t imply I agree or disagree with it.
