I have a real problem with the topic heading. Exactly what is “custom” in this context? A kit that was modified? A model built from scratch? A piece of rolling stock that was reworked (customized) into something better/different?
I agree with you Peter, everything I build is custom built for my railroad.
It doesn’t matter if it is a scratch built locomotive with no manufactured parts used or an out of the box stock boxcar that I decaled with my road name they are both custom built for my railroad.
Just my uninformed opinion.
And I just think on a title like this it fills a void in the questioners thoughts of how to get to see how others have personalized their railroad. And learning or relearning the joys of the past. My railroad hand made or heavily modified items were simply to create what I couldn’t buy in the store.
Rooster, everything but the live plants, track and sidewalks comes up in summertime here!![IMG_5622|666x500](upload://5nmTzfWdUIECucTdFtHLhs7VhPB.jpeg
Overnight low here tonight is supposed to be 91 so everything would be melted blobs if left out
Uh, that bad? Wow. I was raised in Modesto, many moons ago, but I don’t recall anything like that.
I am in the Phoenix Arizona area
I keep coming back to this post and being impressed by David Marconi’s custom builds.
Good stuff.
Thank you Todd I feel it is almost on a par with your fantastic builds
