Large Scale Central

What does the Cold and Snow and Car washs have in common

The Hudson Vally Large Scale RR Clubs new modular layout.

Since it’s been cold and snowing, Ive been getting some new modules in shape for our club, My

Girlfriend bough me some new car wash’s for xmas and ive been building some signal shacks to use as well. We as a club will no longer do floor displays and have opted for a “Large Modular Display”

for all future shows as it’s easier on the old timers to play on. I myself are working on a easy set up route teen for the unit’s at shows. Easy in easy out. Here a few pictures to start.

and Andy’s diner is a must for any layout.

American Diorama — they have some neat 1:24 stuff.

Thanks HJ

Today would be a good day for that R.J. 17 inches and counting.

I wish I could send it north to to my friends the hook and loopers

Nice looking car wash set. American Diorama makes some great “G” scale stuff.

Not cold and no snow but there is a car being washed:

This is on my HO layout (set in the late 1950s). The guy is bringing home a Christmas tree while the girls next door are washing their car. Just another typical December in sunny Southern California.

Matt,

That scene is just TERRIFIC!!!

Yea Matt I agree, they make some cool stuff. A couple of years ago they produced a cool looking Cape Cod style house I really wanted some of them but can’t find them anymore anywhere.

Would like to get 3 or 4 if anyone knows who may have some. Your HO layout looks cool.

Nick , do you mean the one that looks like this:

They call it a saltbox house. If this is the one you’re looking for, Collectible Diecast has maroon and blue. I have the maroon house. It’s a really nice model. A little heavier then the typical Pola or Piko building, but still looks pretty good mixed in with them.

Thats the one Matt, Thank You. I thought they were cape coders been a while since Ive seen them. It looks really nice American style. Ive been phasing out the Piko and Pola euro stuff in favor of American style buildings as they become available. My modeling skills still have a bit to be desired but I’m working on it.
