What car would you buy with $100,000

If I had that, I’d probably buy other stuff first, but if it HAD to be a car, then a 440 6-pack Super Bee… either a '69 or a '71. Just a bit less ostentatious than a wing car.

Tony - How did YOU get into a mini-cooper? : O

tac

The same way I get into most cars I have owned.
I get the seats professionally remounted so I can fit in.
Even did that to my current cars which are hardly small. Makes long distance driving much more enjoyable.

I’m six foot four and I have no trouble at all getting into my wife’s mini-cooper. If I put the seat all the way down/back, I can can extend my arms dead straight and in fact it’s a little too far back. I assume you’d be ok in the mini to six 6 or so, then you’d want to make some changes.

I not really a car guy–If I had t send a hundred grand I’d go to a custom guitar maker and have a couple really nice guitars handmade.

If it had to be a car i’d get an old Checker cab and have it reworked into kind of a low rider

I love the old Checker cabs. I was going to buy a Checker years ago in Texas. It had never been a cab. Leather interior. It was on a car lot and I had no cash or checkbook with me. I went to the bank to get some cash and returned 30 minutes later to find the car sold.
I’m 6’ 2". Most cars built in the last 20 years don’t have enough front leg room. My wife’s Buick Lucerne is the first car in years that I could move the seat back so far I have trouble reaching the pedals.

There’s a Checker for sale 2 blocks from me. Haven’t stopped to look, but it would make a nice cruiser if you had the 100K to convert it.
It has 4 headlights, but I don’t know the year. (Maybe 58 or 59)

And
I’m a runty 5-10.
I sat in the passenger side of a buddies Mini Cooper, pushed the seat all the way back, and couldn’t touch the front (Floorboards) with my toes. It seemed my feet went all the way to the headlights.

But Steve, isn’t there one of those in yer garage?
Albeit beat to hell.
Get busy!

A friend of mine in Texas, an Oklahoman, BTW, is seven feet, one and half inches in his bare feet. His wife is five one. He used to be in the DEA as a the front entry man. Dressed up in all his armour and Darth Vader headgear he must have been something to see coming through the hole where your door used to be, with a Franchi SPAS-12 in each hand. He still looks like ‘Predator’ with a human mask on, only bigger.

BTW - HIS car is a '06 Corvette.

I just can’t resist… the same one I am driving now. Well, you asked…

Of course I may be bicycling next year if the market does not get better…

What are you driving now?
I hope I don’t have to resort to a bicycle. It’s uphill either way I go out of my driveway. Steep hills.
Ralph

Mercedes SL500… wanted a convertible hardtop. Did not want to spend that much, but I don’t fit in a Lexus sports car, and the Cadillac salespeople really do not seem to want to sell a sports car. Handles almost as good as a corvette, goes fast and has smooth enough suspension to take long trips.

But, it ain’t cheap to maintain, so bicycle might be in my future!
