Whadda HEY! Accucraft ripped off MY idea!

Anyone see this on the Accucraft site?

HEY! They ripped off my idea!!! Where have we seen this before?

here

and here

and lets not forget here

and this one

oooh and here too Man I WANT CREDIT!!! …or at least a free sample to compare

That’s the live steamer based on Marc Horvitz’s build.

Well that’s cute as hell!

A little bit of detail work could make for a fun little steamer though R/C could be a tad difficult!

Victor, did you run that on the Pizza layout at Southwest a couple years ago? Did that Accucraft dealer have a tape measure?

Here’s Marc’s build of it. I think it was in GR or Steam in the Garden also:

Oooooo I like that.

Jerry I think Vics is closer to looking like the accucraft then Marc’s.

Yes, and yes, the whadahellizit's in pic 2 and 3 were both there. Maybe I got a little TOO much attention ;)

Vic …I think I may have some stuff that you might want to molest…I shot you an e-mail awhile back with no response. So if the no response means NO I don’t want it that’s fine. However if you didn’t get the e-mail shoot me one and I’ll let you know what I have.

What happened to the Accucraft pic?

John I dont know, I tried to open the Accu site this AM and I got the Dreaded “Access Forbidden” but I can still open the e-store and the British site.

Maybe I pe’od the Elders of the Internet (or accidentally crashed their site when people went to take a look) :open_mouth:

Tried something different to repost the pic, at the MSRP price listed there is a chance that I might be able to pick one of these up next year , I’ll name it “Little Ripper”
:stuck_out_tongue:

I guess they fixed the Accucraft pic. Its there for me. Maybe you are holding your jaw wrong. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nah, his name is on a “special” list!

Replied...;)

Looks like a Bell locomotive… something I’ve wanted for a long time. Under $400 is doable for me. http://www.gearedsteam.com/bell/bell.htm

Dwayne, My little monsters were based on premise of the Bell type geared locomotives built for contractors in the 1920’s, they used for pistons the steam drive mechanisms from the Stanley Steamer automobile of all things, Mr Bell bought up the entire factory inventory when Stanley went bust and used them for his little rail beasties. The pic on Marc’s Horowitz’s site of the prototype’s mechanism for the Accu Little Ripper looks almost like it could have come straight out of the Bell catalog. From Marc’s website:

The Little Ripper just does away with Marc’s dummy piston set up.

There out to GET ME!!! :open_mouth:

Not only did they take my idea, but now they named the dang little bugger after my wife!!!

What the hell are the odds of THAT?? :stuck_out_tongue:

I know an O scale traction modeler in Glen Mills, PA who has done some restoration work on Stanleys. When I mentioned the Bell to him several years ago he told me of the connection between Bell and Stanley.

The link posted shows Dora to be 154.70 inches long… lol.

Definitely want one of these eventually.

They have spyware on your cellphone, Vic, and they know when they've got a live one. Paging Mr Barnum ;)
