West Virginia & Kentucky Day!

This coming Thursday marks the 2nd Anniversary of the first ever Golden Spike driven on the West Virginia & Kentucky Railroad…this year will include dedication of the new yard in the town of Chandler as well as various excursions by the in service motive power. The Government has also declared a National Holiday in support of this event, and many municipalities are preparing fireworks and other festivities to mark the occasion. I understand many people are even off work and planning their own private observations…

Looking forward to the pics of this purported event. Will any local news stations be covering the fireworks that will mark this occasion ?

In celebration we decided to take a little camping trip. Enjoying the day at the Saugerties / Woodstock KOA.O. But trains are still on the plan. I brought most of my FN3 cars with me to fine tune the air hoses.

Also plan to get some Aeoroplane watching in at the Rhinebeck Aerodrome on Saturday.

We managed sunshine for the Whistle Salute…
