Large Scale Central

Well, I don't particularly want one but

This might make an interesting prototype for those of you wondering what to do with that odd carbody left lying around. (Sent to me by a friend who sends a bunch of interesting photos like this every week… ) Matthew (OV)

I don’t believe that’s still there, at least I don’t remember ever seeing that. Modena is just south of Coatesville, Pa and that railroad line is still in use. It runs from Wilmington DE through Coatesville and was used to supply the steel mill there. I follows the Brandywine River and passes through some of the old DuPont estates

I think it’s interesting that the waiting room uses sliding “baggage doors” to access the traps at the ends of two cars… no platform!

I think a old baggage or pass car makes for a great office or in this case a station. I used a combine for my yard office seen at the edge of this photo. There seems to be a prototype for everything. Matthew, Watch that first step its a doozy… At least I built steps for my guys if they come out the baggage door. With the runaway we had the other day my RR has enough problems without a guy taking a header! LOL

That is very cool and exactly the idea I was looking for for a small whistle stop on my railroad. I have a few bachmann passenger cars no longer in use that would fit this job perfectly!
