Large Scale Central

Welcome new users

In the last couple of weeks, we’ve had a large influx of new users. I wanted to take the time to welcome them. We are a free site; you don’t have to pay a dime to access any and all content here. Donations are appreciated, but never ever required. To get your feet under you here, I’d suggest a few things.

Read the sticky threads in both the General and in Website forums. They will explain most of the policies. We’re pretty easy going here, with a couple of exceptions.

Talking politics or religion will get the ban hammer from me as soon as I notice the thread. This is an iron-clad, no refunds policy.

Picking on other members, or their modeling, will get you a warning. Get enough warnings and you get banned. I dont care if you have a deep seething hate of someone, dont bring it out in public here.

With a few notable exceptions, we prefer real names here. Some people get a pass because theyre well-known, or Ive met them in person. I generally like to know who is on the site.

Thanks Bob for this post.

Welcome everyone. Sit down grab a coffee and hang out. We can’t wait to meet you.

Welcome y’all!

Just be careful not to step on the track.

Thanks Bob, and welcome to all new members

Here here, welcome aboard!! You’ll find this is a great site with a great group of guys that aren’t afraid to share their knowledge of large scale trains. Don’t be afraid to ask any question you might have, because there are no “Stupid” questions, we’re all at different levels of experience.

Chuck

Welcome Aboard!! What everyone else has said with an adder…'The only stupid question is the one you don’t ask."

Happy Railroading!!

Welcome to all the newcomers. There’s tons of knowledge among the regulars on this site. (I’m not one of them, but I’m okay with being dumb) Everyone has been a big help to me in my years in this hobby, so like others have said, enjoy, ask away, and sit back and learn from our experts.

i’ve got the suspiction, that most of us here already know most of the newcomers from somewhere else…

but anyhow: Welcome!

Welcome aboard. And for those of us who may not know you, please feel free to fill us in on what you model and who you are. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Oh Boy!! new fodder for next years Mik’s Challenge. Those that are builders and bashers, this gives you about a year to get ready for our annual Mik’s build Challenge. Take a few minutes and scroll down the forums list and check out whats currently going on in the “Annual Build Challenge” forum inside the MODELING section. And then apply rule #1 to all your train fun.

Welcome Aboard… Mostly good people here, a couple of ol’ sore heads about, but you’ll figure them out ( there harmless really). BTW: watch out for the poultry, and the narcs, and the fixers, and the builders are OK.

Welcome to the “New Users” of the Large Scale Central web page.

Now can we entice some of you, to bring your “New Blood” over to the Chat Room…Please…?

The Chat Room needs NEW BLOOD. People who want to talk/chat about LS model railroading. To share ideas, experiences, skills, and suggestions, in a laid-back, informal, but FRIENDLY manner. Please, no religion, politics or foul mouths.

Please feel welcome to drop in and start a conversation, with a question, a suggestion, or an experience involving Large Scale Model Railroading, or anything to do with the “Rail Transportation Industry”. Its history, and future, and anything in between.

Pictures can easily be posted on the chat, and there are people there that can and will be pleased to help you learn how.

There is usually someone on the chat, from 18:00 through to 21:00 EST, but the hours can easily be extended if anyone wants to jump in earlier or later.

How about a “FAR WESTERN Group” joining in at later hours. Eastern, and mid-western people can jump in anytime…the water is always warm…jump in and join us…the bar is always open, depending on who leaves his credit card on the bar…!!! (Try to bring our Host, and owner with you; he usually buys a round or two when he visits…)

Welcome aboard to all the new members!

Mahalo (Thanks!) for the welcome from the Westernmost outpost of the American branch of the hobby! Looking forward to snooping around a bit!

Eric

Welcome to you, Eric, from the eastern end of the country!

Welcome everyone. This is a great place to be. Just watch your step, there is a Rooster on the loose in here.

Howdy, Eric. Welcome from the Heart of Dixie.

Yo, Fred, I’ve been in Chat several times and haven’t seen you. Well, I take that back. I was in there last night and it said you were there, but no Fred. But I will continue to visit. Had a great time in there last night chatting and getting to know a couple of the members. Found out that my wife and another member’s wife were in a class together here locally about a month ago. Small World. So, I will help Fred out. Y’all come on by the chat room. Plenty of bar stools, drink and fun. You might just find out you practically live next door to someone here(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I was there, and I want to encourage new members to show up and ask questions, it can get people help in real time and everyone has questions and can have fun!
